I’ve been busy and I got to make bread.

I like writing. No. Writing is a kin to my soul and means of my understanding the world and thinking through problems.

I love every bit of the craft. But, I got to make bread so I have to invest the time in growing my business and other means of income.

Have I stopped writing or given up the craft?

My mind doesn’t work like that. I need to work problems in written words and tell stories. Writing is the means of me figuring out problems and experimenting with my own theories. Currently I am working on three books right now. One 56% done. Two at 20% done. Three is 5% beginning.

I plan to continue and finish them next year. I’m also trying to figure out how to refine my pose to something that fits into a the mind frame of book lovers. It is difficult because I find the process more a science then a enjoyment as my typical day of writing.

I will push on. I’ll craft a story that people recognize in a pattern to their liking. It will be one book afterward I’ll write a dozen other tales.

  1. Your dedication to the craft of writing is impressive. Lesser souls would have given up by now, frittering away their time and energy on video games or watching streaming TV. Not you.

Remember, when you adapt your style to the dominant medium, it’s still YOU doing the writing. You haven’t sold out or done anything base, you’re just writing in the standard artistic vernacular. The best way to think of it is as a style of mainstream art. You can be a mainstream artist or you can be a super-niche one; if you only do your own style you’ll remain a super-niche one. But if you can successfully emulate what standard books look like, you have a chance at hitting the mainstream.
