We were coming to the end of this bullshit job but I was still having fun. I was about to take a new role in my life. Teacher.

“Brother. We have trouble coming to us. I believe this is a trap.” Marcus said glancing at the cyborg as a portal opened up blocking our way to the city an army of giant robotic men and foot soldiers all started marching toward us.
He wasn’t wrong. I nodded but looked at the Cyborg. “You don’t have a name.” I said. The storm was whispering to me. I felt the rush of conflict and a need to do battle against my enemies.
The Cyborg flinched at the dominance in my tone. She started to say something I shook my head. “It’s because I haven’t given it to you yet. I know the invaders told you to go along with this plan to get me and my brothers out into the open so that they would allow you to live and of course killing a King of Dream Realm will weaken the the confidence of people and shake their will to fight. It’s a decent enough plan but the fact your people chose the wrong time and place to assassinate me.”
The Cyborg was shaking a little at my voice. She stared at me with wide eyes. She was speechless.
I nodded. “You didn’t fall. Someone took you off the path you were going because your former masters had designs on invading my realm.” I said. Lightning cracked in the sky above. “How many times did you challenge Lightning Baby the mother of the Nomads?”
The Cyborg stared at me. “Once. She defeated me and rewrote my programming and poisoned my matrix energy. Brining you out of the city to the Outlands wasn’t my idea. I was forced to do this.”
Arrow drew his revolver. The Cyborg started to shake.
“Don’t kill her. She’s pack. So belongs to us.” I said.
Both men stared at me wide eyed. “The fuck!?”
I nodded held out my hand to her calling the lightning to me and heard the roar of the army of invaders coming but I stared at her. “It’s funny isn’t it. You tried your best to run from her but the first meeting was all it took for her to change you little sister.”
“I am not your sister.” She said.
I shook my head. “You were abandoned by your people left to walk the realms alone defenseless. You came here. You asked me to become your alpha protector when you greeted me and then asked for my help. Do you feel it.”
“I feel nothing. I am not I hybrid mutant as you are. I had no choice. They were going to kill me if I didn’t agree to-“
I heard the lie in her voice and saw it in her shaky form. “You do you feel the rush. The power above us. I know you do. This is your first lesson. We are strong in conflict but we grow stronger in Outlands when the storm is alive. We thrive in conflict. Your a Nomad female. You draw your strength from the element channel it where you need to. Second lesson is there are fighters and their nurturers. You have fallen into the later. You are no longer a warrior. Your power is in your mind and heart. Now reach for the rush. The power. Call it to you and use it to Run to the city. We’ll talk later.”
“They will kill you. I’m sorry to have done this to-“
“If they don’t kill us. Then you owe me my fee and loyalty to my pack forever. How does that sound for a bet. You own. I accept your silence as your acceptance to my terms. Run along little sister. You’ll only get it my.”
The Cyborg frowned at me shaking her head before she called to the lightning into her feet and then she took off.
There was a buzzing sound that reminded me of the buzzing of chainsaw or Bee as it flew by. I had her first name. I would have to remember her last name.
“Brother?”
I nodded feeling the army at my back. I smiled. Lightning cracked in the sky above and strike the desert around us. “They picked the right kind of day for war. Alright brothers it’s time to have some fun.”

I’d like to hear more about the King of Dream Realm, and how he affected the lands of the Sandman. In Robert Silverberg’s Lord Valentine’s Castle series, there is a person who broadcasts dreams to the populace. That is pretty cool, I’d say.

I’m going to have to get on that. It’s pretty obvious who he is but explaining has to feel natural and not on the nose type of stuff.
