I’ve noted in previous posts that I’ve been writing a lot lately. The whole experience has been a journey of rediscovery about my writing pace. I’m hammering out short stories like crazy and working on a series of stories compiling them into a Anthology for no particular reason. I think I’ll put out a Anthology next year but don’t hold me to that I’m still analyzing if I can keep up the pace. Anyway, I was doing the Anthology as a means of keeping the stories locked in one document because they’re all related to one another in genre and I’m finding myself finishing and jumping between each story as the ideas come to me. My writing pace is getting to be pretty speedy when I’m writing short stories. Not bragging I’m just surprised though it has made me realize how fast my writing pace could be when I’m writing in short story format of thinking.
I am not a novelist
nor do I want to be now
however I’m still in the NNWM mindset but I think I’ll have to cheat a little.
I’ll have to organize the book in sections Three separate books in a similar Anthology style some what.
Beginning – Book 1 Morning (naïve) Adventure begins 10 to 20 chapters
Middle – Book 2 Night (Conning) Discovery of the dragon 10- 20 chapters
End – Book 3 Dawn (Wise) Conquering of the dragon 10-13 chapters
- Note: The names reflect the character as he/she works through their life struggles. There are no dragons in the story I’m doing. It’s a traditional hero’s journey of sorts.
I’ll work the page count to about 50,000 plus words though I’ll maybe add on more if I can write at a fast pace. Now I’ll have to figure out what format will I go for. Hmm. Now that’s the tough one. First or third person. Decisions. Decisions. I might do both. I’ll keep you posted.
