Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 34

Beau was sitting in his wheelchair as he was being pushed inside Martin’s office by Jessica. Ryu and Angel were walking behind them silently. Martin had his back to them and he was standing facing his office window looking out over the city. He had his jacket off and lay on his messy desk. Martin’s hands were clasped behind his stiff straight back.

Beau held up a hand stopping Jessica from pushing his wheelchair any further. “What’s the situation looking like with the normal’s leader? What do they want?” He asked.

Martin laughed. It sounded forced and a little nervous to Beau.

Martin shook his head and sighed. “Well brother to be honest it’s not looking good. Not looking good at all. I’m sure Jessica told you a bit of the situation that is building up. They want you back in the core to run and lead special team supers units. They’re kicking themselves for letting you go I would guess.” He said.

Beau shook his head. “You mean they want to take me to the lab again. I expect they want to break open my body to see what secrecy they didn’t find the last several times.” He said with edge to his voice.

Martin was quiet. “Are you joking or did that really happen?” He said calmly.

Beau shrugged. “I have a high tolerance to pain. It was before the new laws were passed. They used the time to get me to make shit for them. It is what it is. It’s not your fault brother.” He said.

“Ryu!” Martin said.

“He’s not lying. They opened him up like can of beans and dug into his body between making him make weapons. He went crazy after they broke him.” Ryu said behind Beau.

Beau snorted looking back at Ryu. “You are being a very dramatic little kid about it. I knew what I was getting into and I won. They didn’t get what they wanted and I got to see my people survive. I won.” He said.

Ryu shook his head at Beau. “Your fucking insane.” He said.

“Shut the fuck up, Ryu!” Martin said in a sharp cold tone. “You’ll mean your find fucking your tongue when you’re talking to my brother or I’ll cut it out.” He said.

Beau snorted as Ryu paled at Martin’s sharp words. “You’re not as much of bad ass as you think are kiddo.” He said to Ryu and then he looked at Martin’s stiff back. “Brother. Things will get messy for our people if I stay here. These people don’t give a fuck about sending our own kind against us. I’m willing and able too keep on fighting but not at the cost of what you’ve built here.” He said.

Martin was quiet. “Give me some time to work this out brother.” He said.

Beau sighed. “Martin. I can disappear if they’re hard up on having an experimental rabbit again. You don’t have to-” He said but stopped.

Martin turned around and sung his fist down breaking his desk in half with his fist. He glared at Beau before his face relaxed slowly. He smiled at him. “Just give me some time. I know what will happen if you run. They’ll find and then they’ll finally break you and won’t leave anything for us to bury or give your family. I heard your sister came to see you here once. You need to think about reconnecting with your family brother. Family is everything.” He said.

Beau sighed. “Alright. Alright. You handle it.” He said.

“I need your word on it brother.” Martin said.

Beau nodded. “Of course. You got my word. I’ll let you handle them. I won’t do anything until you resolve it how ever way you can.” He said.

Martin nodded and straightened up. “Thank you brother. Your trust in this means everything to me. ” He said.

A sound went off in Beau’s jacket pocket. Suddenly, Beau was standing on newly made metal legs. He turned putting his back to Martin and extended out his hand. Blue electrical energy blasted from his hand striking an invisible enemy. The electrical blasts continued until a blue creature with bat like wings lay on the floor visible. Her small breasts were bare as was the rest of her body. She was naked but for a pair knee high boots.

“Beau Lucas. I should have expected you would get stronger.” The creature said and then spat at Beau.

Beau chuckled. “Nicole Jones. Fancy you here love. It’s been some time. Your still full of surprises. It wasn’t smart of you coming here. But then again you were never strong in that field at least.” He said.

“Bastard!” Nicole spat at him.

Ryu stood with his back to Jessica and pushed her back away from the creature. “Who the fuck is this bitch. A friend of yours?” He said.

“I know who she is.” Martin said coldly.

Martin moved in front of Beau with a pistol in his hand. He glared down at the creature. “She worked for me at one point back in the past as spy and assassin. You took a big risk coming here to kill us.” He said.

Nicole snickered and came to her feet in one flowing motion. She wasn’t hurt. “I didn’t come here to kill you Vlad. I came here to convey a message to you from the sisters. Your over reaching into their market. It’s time you walked away before you and legless over here get pushed out of the way.” She said.

“The Sisters!” Martin said in a cold tone. “Really?! Well I think it’s time I sent a message to your bosses.” He said.

Beau touched Martin’s shoulder. “Easy, brother. I don’t like this.” He said.

Martin froze. “What are you thinking? A trap of some kind.” He asked.

Beau frowned at Nicole who was grinning at him. “If she’s working for the sisters then you know they’re working a angle with her even being here. They know us to well and they’re working their powers on this situation to fuck us over. Let her go. I have to get to work on the security system fast and upgrade our defenses. Killing her would only work to their plan.” Beau said.

“The fuck!? Let her go. The fuck you say. Kill this bitch.” Ryu said.

Martin sighed. “Nicole get your ass out of here. I got your message. I’ll move how I want to and when I want too. Fuck off.” He said.

Nicole laughed. “You’ve changed letting other people think for you.” She said pushing him.

Beau snorted and then he brought out a device and flashed a beam of light on Nicole. She screamed a few seconds and then she was gone. Martin looked at him. “Did you kill her!” He asked in a tone without judgment or care.

Beau shook his head. “I just sent her away from here. It’s something I’ve been working on it’s still in the experimental trial stage. I’ll get to the lab and start work on security upgrades. You’ll need to think of something quickly brother. If the sisters are getting this direct with their attacks we’re short on time to react.” He said.

Martin nodded putting away his pistol in his holster. “What do you suggest line of thinking I take?” He asked.

Beau grimaced shaking his head. “Think of something outside of the box of your normal thinking. I’ll work to enhance your idea any way I can.” He said and then looked at the communicator of homeworld attached to Martin’s dress shirt pocket. He pointed to the pin. “Homeworld. That’s an interesting name for a company. Why did you come up with that name?” He said.

Martin frowned shaking his head but then froze. He nodded his head. “I have to do some thinking and talk to some people. I think I know what your getting at but the plan will require planning and timing.” He said.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 32

Beau sat in wheel chair in his apartment dorm room facing a wide screen 22 inch wall plat screen television. There was a live news footage of Rider getting out of prison. Rider walked with careful walk. His eyes were staring straight ahead as he carried his box of personal items and his duffle bag. Rider silver blue metal necklace was around his neck. He was dressed in casual jeans and white dress shirt and beat up sneakers. He doubted it was the outfit that he had went in with. It was outfit that had been assigned to him to wear for the photo shoot.

Beau took a sip from his tall glass of ice sweet tea. He grimaced wishing it was wine but then he shook his head knowing that wouldn’t a good idea. He was twenty-four months sober and trying to keep it that way for Jessica and Angel’s sake’s.

Beau watched as a camera focused on Rider. He walked up to news platform set up outside of the prison. President Smith and other politicians stood and waved him toward them to speak at the podium. Rider looked pale a lot leaner. His eyes though is what made Beau’s head began to hurt. Rider was still riding the line between control and madness. Nightmares swam behind his dark eyes.

Rider still obeyed the summons from the President. He shook hands with her. He nodded his head to whatever bullshit she said to him. He then took his position facing the reporters and looked down at the speech prepared for him to read.

Beau set his glass down on the floor. There was a beep on his communicator. Beau took a breath. “Mute Television.” He said. The plate screen and the words muted in red letters was on the screen.

Beau tapped his communicator pin attached to his jacket. “Techno here.” He said.

“Beau. Are you watching the press conference with Rider?” Martin asked.

Beau was quiet watching Rider read off his speech. He couldn’t hear the words and was thankful for it. “Yeah. I’m watching it now. He just needs to get through it before they’ll let him go.” Beau said in calm even toned voice.

“Brother. He knew what he was getting into when he took that deal. At least now he knows who these bastards really are. I know he was your friend but we did try to warn him they would turn on him.” Martin said.

Beau chuckled. “He’s not as smart as you are brother. He never saw this coming. He’s just a victim of his own ideals. The only thing I want now is for them to leave him alone. He belongs to us now. He survived though I know they had to put him through the shit. He survived.” He said.

Martin was quiet. “I’m sorry brother we couldn’t get him out.” He said.

Beau sighed and then stared at the screen as Rider lifted his hand and pointed at someone. He froze. “Volume on!” He said.

The volume on the plate screen was turned on.

Rider was speaking to a young pretty Super. The young mutant had silver blond hair, she was dressed a white suit jacket and skirt who was standing up. The crowd of reporters around her were silent. Pictures flashed but Rider held her gaze. “My time is done. Save our people. You’ve got a long fight on your hands of a different kind now. It’s a fight you will need different types of weapons to fight. Your speech and your Super noble mind. The future of our kind and generations to come depend on your wisdom and your determination. This time it’s not some dead alien. This time it’s your own government. Your own people. Your own normal country men. You fight for your children and their future. Fight to make sure they don’t fall. You want a hero to look up to look in the mirror sister. You’re a mother and sister of our kind. You’re ready to fight encourage our kind to push on when many would see us dead and gone. That’s my hero.” Rider said and turned started walking away as pictures flashed.

Beau’s mind flashed back to that moment when he was speared in the chest waiting to die finally. Wishing for it but he wanted to live. He felt it.

“Beau?! Beau are you seeing this? What the hell is happening?! Is he doing what I think he’s doing?!” Martin said in growing alarm.

Beau nodded his head. “He’s using his powers on her but his powers are expanding out through the damn camera and crowd. He’s gotten stronger. What the fuck is this!?” He said.

Beau’s phone went off in his pocket. He got it out and answered it. “What the fuck have you’ve done? He was supposed to lose his powers when he was collared.” Beau said.

E’s laughter sent a chill down Beau’s spine. “I told you brother. He would survive. The threat of his illness and his loyalty to the normals has been stomped out. He’s fully on the side of his people. Do you want to meet him?” She said.

Beau hung up on her without answering her. This wasn’t what he wanted. This complicated things and he already could see trouble for Rider once they’re enemies realized what Rider’s real powers were. This wasn’t at all what he wanted.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 16

Beau put his hand to Vlad’s mouth. Vlad stilled and then opened his eyes slowly. Beau stared at him behind his dark blue helmet.

“Why does the government want you dead?” He asked Vlad calmly.

Vlad stared back as Beau removed his gloved hand from his lips.

“They tried to hire me to kill Rider and your lot of goodies. I told them to shove it. I’m guessing they hired you well let’s-“

“Five days from now all my friends die and they take all your kids into the government foster care. Though. Honestly it’s more indoctrination into their private supers army.” He said and stared at Vlad. “Do you understand what I’m telling you.” He asked.

Vlad stared at him. “You have a seer?”

Beau shook his head. “One of my people is. She showed me what’s going to happened if we don’t change it now.” He said.

Vlad stared at Beau. “I’m listening go on.” He said.

“You already knew that. They sent us several targets. In the first timeline, I lost True Steel, Artemus. You died and your oldest son went down with you. They already have supers in their army really strong. One of them burned me. They’re coming in five days to end the blockade and possibly wipe us all out. Can you take on all of them? Do you have the men and weapons? How many of your own men can you trust not to turn on you?” Beau said.

Vlad stared at him. “We are not on the same team. We are enemies. ” He said.

Beau shook his head. “Wrong. We are brothers. We suffered pain and loss. We did our best to hold our people together and protect what we value. But, if I wanted you dead I would have shot you when you do your daily morning Yoga on the roof. I have no wish to kill you or your people. Your not the worse asshole I’ve had to deal with here for the last six months. Your too civilized. You want to believe there is a reasonable way to deal with them. You can’t fight them in this position. You’ll only get your children killed or taken by them. I had to do some thinking about it. I realized something though. A couple of issues are consistent in every timeline. Both of us die. Both of us lose and something else. Don’t you get it, yet?” He said.

Vlad said nothing he just waited. “Why don’t you tell me what I’m missing assshole?” He said.

“They don’t want us. They want the children and my inventions. They want your children. It’s the only thing that makes sense. I lose my people. Everything. You lose your children. Everything important to you. It’s that simple. Divide and conquer. They see what we’re doing as creating a mutant army to fight the government. It’s all bullshit though to hide the simple truth.”

Vlad nodded. “We have power. That power is a threat to them. It’s why I’m negotiating with them if you-“

“I thought about that. Rider wouldn’t go along with it and he’d only end up getting killed by the government he still believes in. Besides that we can’t trust them. They want us dead. It’s simple. The only way to cure them of that belief is to make ourselves appear weaker then we are or avoid a fight with them out right until we’re on equal footing. Your smart. You can figure out a way but you need time, resources. I don’t have money but I do have weapon designs and other inventions I’ve made and skills that come in handy for you to build something to protect your children and people like us from being hunted down like dogs. I can help you but I got a price.” Beau said.

Vlad frowned at him. “What are you asking me to do?” He said.

“Take your children and leave the city. Right now!” Beau said simple. “I’ve seen every way this can go down. There is no way out for me. I can save some of my people but not all from what’s coming. But, I thought of something. You and your children have one way out though. Retreat and find a better position to defend yourself and children. They’re going to get us. There is no way around it. But, your smart if you can get out and find some way to protect the children then they’ll be free at least to have a better future then the both of us. If you make out better then I imagine then look me up if I’m alive. I’m come work for you. Either way Rider and the others are coming to attack you today in the morning.. I’ll leave it to you on how to handle the situation brother.” Beau said.

Beau got up and walked to the door. Vlad got up. His son was at the door and moved aside to let him pass.

Vlad waved Han forward. “What did you tell him?” He asked.

Han shook his head. “Nothing. He told me what happened in possible timelines. He told me what was at stake if we didn’t act fast.” He said.

Vlad began to walk his bedroom floor while his son was quiet. “Were you waiting for him?” He said.

“Yes.” Han said.

Vlad flinched. “Did he know that?”

“No.” Han said.

Vlad stopped and finally looked at his son. “What did you see?” He asked.

Han stared at his father. “They want Jenna for their army the others will be cast aside. They used Mr. Lucas to kill you and I die with you.”

“What happens to Technomancer!” Vlad asked.

Han shook his head. “They use up Mr. Lucas until he dies on a lab table or he goes insane in white padded cell because he couldn’t save any of us in the end. He’s not going to escape what’s coming dad and they want him the most. The Normals are going to break him and kill him. He knows it. He gave me his inventions and plans in a thumb drive though. What do you want to do?” He said.

Vlad held his hand. “Get your siblings ready. We are leaving now. None of what you have seen will take place. None of it. I will not allow it. I’m not giving up on negotiating with U.S. government. Do you hear me?” He said.

Han stared at him. “Dad. It’s over. Their president hates us. She will not stop until we’re all dead dad. I don’t think even Mr. Lucas’ plan is going to work to save us from what’s coming when the most powerful human leader in the world wants to either use us or exterminate us from the face of the earth.” He said.

“Stop it. Go do as I say. Get you siblings ready. We’re leaving hell hole now.” Vlad commanded. “Listen to me. Nothing has happened yet. We will decide our own fates. Go.” He said.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 13

“Shit. Angel. Let me out me out of the dream baby girl. Let me out.” Beau yelled out. He got no response.

Beau ran over to the side of the building and jumped off the side only to land on the roof again. A chill went down his spine. Angel was forcing him to stay in the dream.

“Angel. Let go of my hand. Angel let go right now.” He said.

Nothing. The dream still held. Damn it he would have to see this one through to the end point.

Beau felt a sense of vertigo as he blinked and realized he stood on a platform with Rider and three other blue mutant New Yorkers as the President took the podium and addressed a small crowd of the Blues and a few normal humans. He was having another spell because of the pain in his legs and injured arm. Luckily that was over.

He smiled along with the others standing with him. He looked at the president.

“It’s been a long hard road for us as Americans and earthlings. But, today marks a new stage in our course correct to get back to the business of living.”

Beau half listened. It was all the show part.

They had made it. It had taken his friends and people six months of work but they had bartered a deal with the U. S. Government to get their people out by the reopening of New York City to the outside world.

His eyes looked out out over the small crowd of his friends and people he had grown to know as his family. One person was missing and one seat left empty between Jay and Freya Newton.

Angel.

Beau blinked back the tears and tried not to think of her. She should be here. She would have been here if he had made the choice to save her while he could have. Jay and Freya glared at him in animosity and hatred.

He had had no choice. It had been for greater good of them all. That he had chosen to take out Vlad and his son then….

Beau realized what he thought and looked back over his memory from a few days before….

What the fuck?

Beau kicked opened the door and fired his assault shotgun into the room killing Vlad, his children and wives. He had taken fired once executing Vlad dropped his weapon and raced up stairs to the roof with the gang and Vlad’s sons firing rounds into his back as he barely made it to the roof and dove off into the waiting arms of Rider who was floating in the air waiting to pick him.

The memory hit Beau like a shot gun shot to the face and left him shaking at the strong memory of it. He remembered the violence and smell of blood and rush of violence he felt. The crash afterward had left him wanted to vomit afterward.

No. No.

Beau shook his head he couldn’t have done that he wouldn’t have. That was going to far. He blinked tried to replay or remember the day better in the dream. It only got worse.

First it was Vlad and his family then it was Vlad, his family and Rider. Beau stopped looking back and realized it was no good.

When the fuck was this nightmare going to end?

Major Benjamin clapped Beau’s shoulder. Beau blinked up at the older man. “Sir. I’m sorry you were saying.” He asked.

Major Benjamin smiled. “I’m just glad to hear your joining up with my unit on the Supers West division. I’ll be making you team leader.” He said.

Beau nodded but frowned. “I thought Rider would be a natural-“

“No. Rider is a bit of wild card. We’ve already given him a temporary contract for hire to handle our dangerous situation.”

Beau blinked and started to speak but E caught his arm and jerked him away from the Major.

“Excuse me. Major. I’ll be right back.”

Major Benjamin grinned but nodded. “Take your time.”

Beau jerked his gaze to her E. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” He said.

“You need to talk to Rider. He’s worrying me. He’s to fine with all these changes.” E said tightly.

“He hasn’t said anything to me yet. He’s going to be working for the government again freelance but he’ll get some work to do.”

“You need to reconsider the government’s offer. Rider and our people need you around. Have you heard of the ghettos they have lined up for us. Their in Baltimore’s high crime areas.” E said.

Beau grimaced but nodded. “I know. We’ll make it work. I’m not abandoning our people. I need to take this job to us a high position in the government to help them.” He said.

“Your acting delusional. Talk to Rider and keep an eye on him tonight. He has to be watched. Losing True Steel and Artemis really as been affecting him a lot lately. He needs you. Promise you’ll watch him.” E said.

“I promise. Nothing is going to happen to him. I’ll talk to him and reassure he’s still got us to back him up.” Beau said though kept wondering. When the in living hell would Angel let him out of the nightmare cycle of hell point possible futures he was in. None of this shit was real but Beau knew if he was seeing the possibilities of what the future could be then he was screwed.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 11

Beau intentionally was the last one to enter the head quarter’s of the commanders allowing Artemus enter ahead of him when he got her to the park. The head quarter’s was a trailer mobile home they had built two had half months in the center of central park. He stared up and skies as a druids flew over their heads taking photographs and watching them. He got inside into a spacious room with a single round table inside with four indivisuals inside.

Rider was standing by E a petite dark hair woman in a lab jacket and black dress. True Silver a tall dark blue skinned man with black hair nodded to him. He was dressed in grey jeans and matching shirt his eyes scanned Beau with a light. He stood by Artemus who was watching Beau carefully.

Beau frowned at Angel being in the room as E stood in front of her projector and then picked up a remote at her desk.

“I need you to see something.” She said to him and then hit a button on the remote. The still image of a man in a green uniform with stone cold expression and buzz cut fade appeared on the projected screen.

Beau frowned and stared at the man. “That’s Major Ethan Benjamin. I served under him two years ago. Hmm.”

E nodded watching him. “The president knows that. It’s the reason she had him deliver this message to you personally.” She said and hit the play button.

“Good morning, Lucas. I’ve been ordered to inform you of the due date of the blockade around the city is going to be lifted in five days. You and your people will then be inducted into the new Supers division and awarded service medals of honor.”

“What’s the catch?” Beau asked.

“You might be wondering what the hell is the catch? In this, Skype call you will be receiving material instructions on what must take place before the blockade is lifted and you your people will be allowed outside the city. Should you choose to accept the conditions then the Government will see signs of it or not of your acceptance when all measures are met. This is Major Ethan Benjamin out.”

E stopped the video and brought up screen shots of a building in the city and seven Blue mutants images on the screen. Beau knew four of them by deals and violent encounters the others he had no idea who they were or why they were targets of the government..

“Who the hell are the three bitches with the long hair?” Artemis asked.

True steel shook his head. “Don’t know. But, there the targets.”

E pointed at the three females. “They’re the same person. Each person is a personality of the first. True and Artemis can handle them. Rider can deal with the storm gangsters. Beau, you’ll have to take out Vlad yourself. Your the only one that can.”

“Why is Angel here?” Beau asked.

Angel smiled as she sat back in her wheelchair. “I’m here to do my job Beau. To give you a little insight to what might happen.” She said and held out her hand toward him.

Beau frowned at her. “Not today, Angel. I think you’ve been working to hard and we’ve been using you to much for my liking. It’s time you retired. It’s an order. You just recovered from our last dream walk a month ago just manage getting the President to talk with us.” He said.

Angel looked at E and then back at Beau and she shrugged. “I’ll take my leave then.” She said and started moving past him to brushed by his shoulder with her forearm as she left the room.

Beau sent a warning look at E. E held up her hands. “Alright. Alright. Your in charge. How are you going to handle Vlad?” He said.

Beau rubbed his jaw. “I’ll manage it my way. He’s got kids and two wives I don’t want to involve them in the mess. I’ll make it a clean kill.” He said.

E studied him closely. “Don’t try to warn or negotiate with him. It won’t work.” She said.

Beau stared at her. “I wasn’t planning on doing so.” He said.

“Your thinking about it though. That’s worse. You could have killed him two months ago. You should have shot him after we found out about the sex house he was running. He’s a gift for charming females and men in to doing what he wants and he’s a hunter. He has to go or none of us will be able to leave this place alive.” E said to him.

Beau stared at her. “I think you got something on your E. Why don’t you just let it out because because after I leave I trying none of your bullshit.” He said.

E stared at him. “You’ve killed gangsters worse or stronger then Vlad over these months we’ve been in this hell hole. I don’t understand why you sympathize with that asshole. I need a reason. Don’t give me no bullshit reason that’s like Rider or anyone here that’s fought along side us or died. I need to understand. Just tell me. Once.” She said.

“You do you Mitchell Daniels the Hawk mutant gang leader.” Beau asked her.

E nodded. “Save me the speech and yourself the time. Tell me what you want to say.” She said.

“Every fucking gangster you sent me to kill bring the violence down and gang wars down in the city near us has only ended up being a case for more people dying and stronger gangsters rising up. I’ve also had to kill a few of their children that them in control and had to bury and burn a lot of bodies. Vlad isn’t that special of a gangster but he takes care of his children and does right by his people. He brings order above all the gangster in this shit hole city.” Beau said staring at her. “I’m tired of dealing with you. I’m tired of having to keep what little people we have alive. I’m tired of you not understanding that your just as much a cold bastard as the rest of the gangsters I’ve had to kill.” He said.

E stared at him with emotionless eyes. “Thank you for being honest with me. I am well aware what I am. This is the last time Beau. I mean it. Vlad has to go. You get rid of him you can get our people out of here.” She said.

Beau stared at her. “What if your wrong?” He said to her. “What if me doing what your asking me to is just one step to killings our people. What if your stupidly to trusting in your own brain.” He said.

“Beau! Easy.” Rider said.

E touched Rider’s shoulder but her eyes were on Beau. “Then we all die. I told you Beau. Vlad has to die. You can figure out the means of it and how to perform the act. If you can think of different way of making his disappear then you better figure before we all run out of time.” She said.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 9

President Helen Bender sat in the oval office going over the reports from New York City. The joint chiefs sat to her right and left quietly letting her remove the reports on the mutants that were in charge of safe guarding the remaining affected people.

Helen slapped down one of the folders that was open to the picture of blue haired man in black hoodie. The name of Captain Beau Lucas. “He’s the only one I want out of the bunch. The rest can be terminated or sent to the new Supers military division for all I care.” She said.

Cor. Eric Briggs turned toward her with a careful expression. “Madam President. Rider and Doctor Eva Jones, Vlad are also top picks we can use for the new Supers divisions. Captain Lucas might be a problem we may want to take care of before we can secure the city and the mutants as assets for military service.”

President Bender folded her arms across her chest and sat back in her seat. “How much of a problem? Be direct. If the analysis report on what Lucas can possible do with weapon and defense engineering is actuate-”

Eric nodded his head. “It is. Madam President. Completely detailed and researched. He’s a modern day Tesla wizard to put it in plain terms.”

President Bender nodded her head. “Good. So what’s the need of a termination of a valuable asset. What’s left of the UK and the European Federation have secured themselves a ready supply of assets for combat and civilian use. But, none of them have a possible asset like Lucas. I want him. The stable mutants that aren’t insane don’t matter or can be shipped out to the Supers stable. But, I see you still have an objection Eric. So give it to me straight. What don’t you like about him?”

Eric didn’t smile but his stare was direct. “Tesla was an idealist with a genius mind. Lucas is a one of kind Super not yet documented in the world. He might be the only one of his own kind. We don’t know if we can control him or will he end up being a liability we have to neutralize down the road. The times are uncertain with the country and the military all going through a reconstruction period.”

President Bender shook her head. “What am I missing that wasn’t in the files?” She said.

Eric held up an Android tablet. “This is something I want you to see.” He said and then bent down setting it on the floor.

President Bender frowned between him and the tablet. “Eric what the hell are you doing?” She asked.

– Voice ID confirmed begin message – A voice from the tablet said.

Suddenly a full body virtual image of Beau Lucas dressed in a hoodie, jeans and sneakers standing before her. “Hello, President Bender. I’m Captain Beau Lucas one of the commanders left protecting the innocent Americans still held up in New York. I designed this device to get into communication with you. All we’re asking is for a chance to be let back into society again and away out of the city before winter sets in the coming near months. Our leader is Jack Rider. Please get in contact with him and his team for us to begin talk. I have enclosed information and blue prints for technical advances I and my team have done. I’m sending this to you as a means of good faith and the hope that you will allow us a way out of the state of life in which New York City has become. We are willing to work with you and talk of how we can benefit you. I’m sure you’ve gathered much information on us from the droids you’ve launched around the city and images you’ve taken. We’ll await your call. Have a good day.” He said and message and image of Beau was gone.

Eric stared at President Bender. “What do you think?” He said.

President Bender pointed at the tablet. “I want everything he sent given to our people and begin the work on it. How did he get the tablet out to us?” She asked.

Eric smiled. “He used one of the drones we sent inside the city as messenger pidgin. He also modified it slightly to make it more improved for flight and none detection.” He said.

President Bender grimaced waving him away. “The plan is still the same. I want him and him only. Tell the freaks whatever bullshit they want to hear and arrange to make it happen but we’re not taking all of those freaks out of that hell hole. Only a handful and make sure it is clear that the second he gets out Lucas is coming to work for us on a permanent basis.” She said.

Eric stared at her. “President-” He began but President Bender held up her hand forestalling any attempts he would have made to argue with her.

“Make it happen like I said. We can not allow the most dangerous monsters out of that place. After we get Beau and few of his people out we’re going to close that place off for as long as it takes for whoever demon that monster created to die off during the winter or through starvation. Get it done or I’ll find someone to get done for me.” She said.

Eric gave her nod. “Okay. I’ll make it happen.” He said. “What about the other selections you have in your mind?” He asked.

“I already have them on board. We’ll use them until we don’t need them or they prove to be to dangerous to deal with. I’m going to need more information on the children and training camps on their progress going so far for the super soldiers division.” She said.

Eric nodded sitting back in his seat. “The peace keeper program is going very well. Our instructors are doing well and producing soldiers ready for combat in the coming months against the Cabal. We just need more soldiers to process the programming better.” He said.

President Bender smiled “You’ll get your freak soldiers Eric. I’m going to see to that.” She said.

XO “A Missing Runner” Episode 7

It was another quiet beautiful night just right after a series of rainy days that had finally came to a hault. There was a glow about the city after the rain that just made every building glow and give off a dreamy feeling as advertisements for detapad memory require businesses flashed on glass corporate buildings. It was a good night to do some work while enjoying the sights of the city at thebest time of day. It had been two weeks sense the Glassgo job and still I had the feeling the old man was still sore about not getting to kill me as he planned.

Everywhere I went now I could feel the all-seeing-eyes of Glassgo influence and his nosy spies tracking me every night I went out for a job with my sister but still he kept himself and his watchers hidden. I wondered about it only at odd times in between jobs and trying to avoid being caught in the wrong place for a right time to fall onto some bullets or laser blasts to the face at the back end of a smoke house when I went to practice my cherry cigarette chain smoking habit.

Valerie called me a dangerously dumb fool for continuing my habit with an enemy so keen on an opportunity for me to have a happy accident. She was one to talk with her hobby of going on ten to twenty minutes “dates” with mid range advertisement models owned by small time companies.

Glassgo was a strange one tracking a small timer like me. The only reason I could theorize for it was simply Glassgo was either extremely bored or needed me for a job later. If he had boredom, I didn’t give a damn but If he wanted me to work for him I knew working for the purple district king would only get me killed.

I looked up as I saw Valkyrie’s cabbie arriving by air onto the roof top parking space.

I walked over pulling out my piece and waving for her to roll down the sliding window. Valkyrie rolled down the window to show me her yellow painted middle finger and her peirced tongue. “Get your bony ass in the my ride. I got a job for us to do.”

I walked over to the side door as it was opened titling upward at an angle. I hoped inside and pulled the door back down into place where it connected with the door lock with a loud ka-chink and thud.

I looked to the front where my sister was already looking forward and preparing the cabbie for a quick take off and we were off again.

“So what’s the job? Another simple runner job?” I asked and tried and failed to keep the boredom out of my voice.

Valkyrie snickered at my tone. “The file is on the seat next to you genius. It’s a skip tracer for a family member looking to find their youngest cub. I think you might like this one. Check it out.”

XO “The Glassgo Job” Episode 6

I waited not seeing my ride any where. I wondered about it. I heard man’s heavy foot steps behind. But, I didn’t hear the sound of a blaster being charged up to fire on me. I wondered about that.

“You caused a very big stirr tonight. Mr. Mystery. For what? A trinket in a safe? You missed the gold cards.” Glassgo said behind me.

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I gripped the railing for support.

“I didn’t mess anything your Majesty? I took what I came here for. I’m not a greedy man or stupid enough to test my luck with you seeing how easy you made it for me to get into your penthouse. Hmm.”

“What gave me away?” Glassgo asked.

“You haven’t killed me yet. I wonder why?” I said.

“No no. That wasn’t it. Ask a better question. I’ll wait.” Glassgo countered.

“Why let that asshole around your princess? That makes no sense at all. Were you testing him or her? That didn’t sit well with my thinking for how Kings operate in regards to females that belong to their pack. After that. Nothing was right at all about this job to my taste.”

“Finley has been overstepping his boundaries of late and his sudden interest in my daughter has become annoying. Your arrival and whatever you said to her was impressive and got the ball rolling toward me removing him from my daughter’s life. It was very impressive. Would you prefer to be thrown down the stairs or combat ritual killing. Your employers can get the Data drive off your dead body of course. Your pack will receive their payment for the job.”

I laughed. “You are a funny charecter your Majesty. No. I prefer to handle things my own way. Good night to you.” I said before I dove off the side and did a dead man fall to the city street.

I smiled feeling the rush and my heart racing. I started to close my eyes until I saw a black hover cabbie racing up toward me with the passenger door open.

When it got close enough I grabbed a hold on the safety handle inside and pulled myself into the cabbie as the door slid closed and I heard Eddie Williams singing his new song Rage against the Machine Empire on Valkrie’s speaker system.

“Your late.” I said staring at the back dark hair of my partner/sister.

“I had a date with a pretty red head for ten minutes. She couldn’t get enough of me.” Valkrie said with arrogant tone in her voice. “I was listening though to the last bit of the conversation you had with Glassgo. What are we going to do about getting paid?”

“Sell the drive back to the client at double the price or to their competitors. They left out details and tried to do a double cross that’s written in our contract with them in case they decided to play games. Give me my computer?”

Valkrie snorted loudly and slipped me my laptop from the front seat of the cabbie. “I can’t believe you snuck that by them in the contract.”

I smiled. “It pays high dividends to have an ex-contractual writer in your business, sister. Alright. Time to do some research.”

“On clients to sell the data drive?”

I shook my head. “I already have a list of them. Give me a second.” I said searching for the image in of the painting on the virtual cyberspace I found it. It was a map to a location. “What are you keeping in that location I wonder Mr. Glassgo?”

“Xander. You sure it’s a good idea to tango with this Glassgo guy? You said we were in this business for the money and nothing personal.” She reminded me.

I thought about it. I shrugged and closed the search to log onto the black market for another runner job. “Okay. I got a ten minute job in seven hours. Your taking lead. You game?”

“You know it bro. I’m on it.”

XO “The Glassgo Job” Episode 5

I made it into the room with a feeling of thrill and nervous excited energy. I had less time to get the job done and then I would have a major issue in getting out of the penthouse without getting killed by Glassgo or his men.

The painting was different when I got inside the office. It had changed to a dark grey image of a image that reminded me something. A map? A computer mainframe? I frowned. I scanned the image with my eye to commit it to my memory. I wondered about that as I hit a button on my wrist watch and did a quick scan of the painting. I found the latch holding it close and clicked it.

It opened outwardly to reveal a B1 encryption locking safe. I quickly got out my decker and jacketed into the lock. It started to hear the sounds of fighting outside the room and wondered about it but then I shrugged it off. It would only help me in my job the more distracted they were outside.

Soon enough however I heard a soft ding from my decker as it unlocked the safe and it opened up. I opened the safe scanning the inside of the safe to see stacks of gold ebs cards inside but brushed then aside to grab up the deta drive inside.

Now all I needed was to get out of here. I heard something behind me click. I looked behind me to see the door lock up. Okay. Time to get my back up plan going.

Okay that was out. I needed to go with my backup plan. I looked around the room and headed for the veranda of the office.

XO “The Glassgo Job” episode 4

“What’s your name by the way?” I asked.

She stared at me with a sly grin. “So now you want to be honest about the reason you came over here.”

I shrugged. “I came over for a conversation so it would be nice to call you by a name you prefer to be called by other then the name I have in my head when I first saw you.”

“Which is what? Miss Piece Sweet of Ass?” She asked with genuine humor. She was laughing at herself. Interesting.

I smiled. “No. Miss Nice Legs was the name. Remind me to buy your father a drink some time for his excellent parenting.”

“My name is Delilah Bowings. And if you want to thank someone then my uncle Sam would be the one. My father was busy trying to become a king during my childhood.” She said with no hint of self pitty in her voice.

I nodded staring at her. “Your a Nomad Princess.”

Delilah merely smiled. “Not presently. I’m a executive. Are you hunting for a mate?”

I smiled shaking my head. “Oh no. Just a little conversation.” I said and looked around to see Glassgo was talking with a executive with a purple pin attached to his suit jacket. Hmm. I didn’t recognize the face but the offical executive class pin noted he was a industry high class professional ruler.

“That’s Hector Finley. He’s recently become attached to Roberto. He’s making a bid to become a King of the purple district. He’s looking to get funding and support from Roberto.” Delilah said.

I nodded. “Who is Roberto to you? Your father or…oh. He’s your father then.” I said noticing the change in her cool expression. “Does Finley know Glassgo is a the current king around here?”

Delilah chuckled softly. “You are a strange one. I thought you were just party crasher executive class looking for a fun night out. Purple district like many parts of the city and dream realm has many kings but we have no definitive leader. However, Roberto doesn’t seem to hold the signature pendent of the district so-“

“-Do you really believe that?”

Delilah smiled and shrugged. “If Roberto had succeeded in becoming a King of the purple district why would he attempt these games. He failed. Are you here to gain a job from him or do you garner something more. You’ll have to get in line Finley is about to position himself to gain the position.”

She really was young. Too damn young. However, that’s just what I needed to use to distract Glassgo. I was going have to let down my mask and do a heavy amount of lying.

“Power is power. A pretty Pin on your jacket isn’t a sign of it. It is a party favor that fools use to impress other idiots of same mind.. That idiot talking with Glassgo is about to be snuffed out. Men like your father won’t abide his kind of cowardice. You should know that already growing up in the circles you come out of.”

Delilah flinched back and stared at me. “Did my pack send you? Why are you-“

“If you have a thing for the Finley guy then you better move. Glassgo is herding him to one of the back rooms.” I said pointing a thumb toward the scene in play.

Delilah hurried away shoving me aside and started toward Glassgo. Glassgo had a weird smile on his face as his daughter started yelling at him in some weird southern accents while Finley was trying to calm her down and apologizing for her.

I made my way toward the secret door that was the back way into the room while the whole room.was distracted.

X0 “The Glassgo Job” Episode 2

I moved in close to my target cover and fell into my new persona of Charlie Kent. Mr. Kent? Old money. Black sheep of a family group. Charming. Adventurous.

The feel of the crowd was quiet yet they were all excited to get a pass into the famous and rich Roberto Glassgo’s inner circle private invitation only party.

I made my approuch and my target turned and he stared at my eye wide eyed. I smiled. “I know. I know. I’m a handsome devil am I not old boy.” I said adding charm and whit to my tone and body language.

I felt a few heads turned my way as they heard my distinct accents in my voice.

The mark blushed as he realized what he had been doing. He started to open his mouth to apologize but I shook my head. “No troubles old Boy. The name is Charle Kent. You not have heard of me but trust me that is extreme intentionality by design from my family group.” I said offering him my hand in a upward facing

The jester got more then a few odd raised eyebrows and side glances. It was a uncommon jester of greeting and I completely made up on the spot. The mark mimicked my jester off-handedly. “Hello, the name is Joel Lee. I am the CEO of Data Trades Ink. A pleasure. Ah what do you do,if I may be so bold to ask?”

I laughed loweringly my hand and following into step with him. “I specialize in consulting. I also buy and sell secrets here and there. My family group only permits me to have a small little business. I can’t become an embarrassment on the old money family you know. Does your lovely wife with you manage your clients well?”

Joel stared at me wide eyed in surprise. “I-I ah. Yes. My wife Amanda does so. How did you know that?”

I chuckled. “Like, I told you I buy and sell secrets as well as I do a little consulting work for the authority, ah no. I meant the purple district clients.” I said with a fake smile of embarrassment at the intentional slip up.

Joel stared at me. “Your a sp-ah!” He stopped because his wife gave him a little kick.

Amanda offered her hand to me. “Pleased to meet you executive class Kent.”

I bowed my head over her hand for a second. “Charmed. But please call me consultant Kent. How is the managment of Deta trades now-a-days?” I asked as we neared the front doors to the building.

Amanda laughed. “Are you interested in our company secrets Consultant Kent?”

Security druids checked invites and let in a few guests and herded several others away that failed the test. Tight security. Hmm. I figured as much.

I shook my head and I reached into my pocket. “Not really. I’m just interested in a casual conversation with interesting people. Nothing big. Joel. What deals are you planning on making tonight? Feel free to lie to me. I enjoy good stories.” I asked and then I hit the switch on my remote trigger before I removed a soft candy and unwrapped it slipped the candy into my mouth. I rolled the candy in my mouth staring at him and waited for signal to go out to the box I put in the trash bin a ten feet away.

Joel frowned at me. “Is Charlie Kent your real name?”

I gave him a sincere smile. “You are new here aren’t you? I like how adorable you are. Why would I give you the real name to my family group in a public setting?! What fun would that be? Not to mention the hell my dear grand mother would raise if I did so gives me pause because of the hold she has on my allowance this month.” I said and heard a few chuckles from the nosy gentleman and ladies listening intently to our conversation.

Joel blushed and even his wife hide a smile under her hand. He frowned at me. “Why the fake name then?”

I stared at him. “You believe everyone here is who they say they are?!” I snorted loudly in real laughter as an explosion went off behind me distracting everyone in the crowd.

My window of opportunity was open for a short period as panic and disorder spread like a virus through the crowd. I turned as the others did but I quickly snatched up Joel’s free arm and jerked him forward to the doors. “It looks like we had better hurry inside before what is going on outside catches up to us old boy.” I said adding a little bit of nervous tone to my voice that kicked Joel in to moving forward.

We quickly moved toward the druids flashing over our cards as some of the druids hurried out to secure the area of danger. We were let inside with little interaction between the security detail and guards. I walked inside the building walking quickly to the elevator with a smile on my face. I saw the camera inside in the corner overhead. Hmm. Can’t avoid everything. The camera would get my image. Have to figure out how to handle what comes of that later.
