Experiment: Logan Jones (Trigger) Ch5

Logan felt the kick of skill upgrade and new skill unlocked in his body. At the same time he heard the ping of the instant effect it was doing to his body and awareness. His senses sharpened. He scanned the training area with a different vision.

He took in the fight going on in the sand ring in front of him a few feet away. He knew it was just about over. It was all a show neither male slave was trying to hurt the other. They were assigned to showcase what the youths would be learning in the coming months.

Logan noticed Sargent Jai give both combatants a look with a nod of his head. On cue one the slave swung around using his sword to push his combatant back with wind magic. The other slave was thrown out of the ring turned using the sword he stabbed the ground with wind magic. The slave launched himself up from the force of the punch and he did a backflip onto his feet.

Logan smiled as he took in the show of magic and skill. It was magic he had seen before in another life. He studied both men with new senses and eyes and recalling the events and both men’s mastery in wind magic. He analyzed the fight and digital numbers appeared over their heads. Indicating. Level 150 wind magic was the number of the man inside the ring. The man outside the ring had a level 260 wind magic above his head.

Logan blinked and numbers disappeared. He grinned. As he realized only a few seconds had passed as he had used his new skill and added on to his plan.

Both Slaves turned and bowed to Sargent Jai. Jai laughed clapping his hands as the others followed suit and they cheered for the two slaves. Logan was quiet though.

Sargent Jai then turned back to his group of trainees. “Wind combat magic is what you will come to learn and master here along with many other things. Your lessons will begin tomorrow. Today we will go through magical placement and then we dine together here. The king has prepared a fine feast for you all to enjoy. Who is first to be tested in what class you should fit in?” He said and looked at Logan expectantly and gave him a friendly smile.

Logan stared. “Marksman is my class and trade. I entertain females as my hobby.” He said.

Sargent Jai stared at him. “King Harold expressed as much to me. Though that your talents of magical healing would serve the group better. You will be trained by our support healer soldiers. You could do well for a bit of wind magic training if you have the skill for it.” He said.

Logan ignored Sargent Jai disregarding him as he walked past him to the slave wing magic user staring at him. Logan nodded to him. “You’re pretty damn good at what you do. I’m Logan Jones. I’m a Marksman. What’s your name?” He said.

The slave frowned but he nodded to Logan. “Trigger of Heights. What is a Marksman class?” He asked.

The other slave next to him laughed. “Sounds like a lot shit to me. He most be a throw away archer or something.” He laughed in Logan’s face.

Logan waved a hand at the wood sword in Trigger’s hand. “Do you need that?” He asked.

Trigger frowned glancing back over Logan’s shoulder at Sargant Jai. Logan saw Jai give a stiff nod.

Trigger handed it to Logan. “You can have it for practice.” He said.

Logan took the wood sword examined it and then he waved it expertly before he pointed the blade at a practice dummy a few feet away. The wood blade glowed for a second and then blue magic launched out from the blade. The blue magic raced quickly for the dummy and exploded on impact.

There was long silence as Logan smiled. As he held a glowing blue blade sword. “Marksman class means I blow shit up with magic. That wind magic trick you did with your sword. Can you teach me how to do that?” He said.

Experiment: Logan Jones (The Marksmen) Ch3

Logan noticed a sudden pause in Harold’s speech. He glanced out the side of his eye to see Harold paying a close attention and focus on Darla. Logan let go of Darla’s hand to the small of her back casually guided her to the crowd.

Harold started up with his speech again. Logan paid little focus on it. It was background noise and flowery words meant to tug on the youth around them. Logan felt the tug of the magic Harold used in his voice attempting to work on him. He purposely turned his focus away. He looked at Darla. He noticed her scent. She smelled of fresh air and woods.

Darla was watching him though he knew she was still aware of everything Harold was saying. She had advanced hearing along with other natural enhancements. He stared at her with open interest.

“You are playing a game with me?” She said using a private soft voice. Her right eye brow raised though. “Are you using me to whet your interests?” She said already suspecting him of more then a sexual interest in him.

Darla was sharp to suspect he was up to something. She was a key element in his plan. The game was played against him from day one he got here. This time he was going to play his own game. He was aware of a few eyes looking at him and Darla.

“When man finds a woman on your world to be his woman. What do they call that relationship on your world?” Logan asked her.

Darla frowned at him and she shook her head. “Relationship?! What does this word mean. What does this have to do with sex?” She said.

Logan smiled. “What do you call a man that has sex with a woman continuously?” He said.

Darla’s cheeks flushed but she stared at him seriously. “A female would be his slave or his mate but there is no difference in my realm. Are you attempting to make me your slave? I thought you just wanted sex?” She said.

Logan grinned. “You know I think I kind ah like you’re world operates.” He said with a chuckle.

“YOU! FACE ME!” Harold said in a commanding voice of magic. Logan turned on his heel and faced the attention of Harold’s deep magical focus. “State your name and class. Hero.” He said to Logan forcing compliance from him. Harold’s eyes glowed intently with a striking impact of magical energy.

Logan couldn’t lie. It was a truth tell. A spell Harold used on Logan many times before and the others to find out the truth. He focused his mind on what he did in his home world. He had been trained and educated from the time he was ten in marksmanship and hunting. He thought about the competitions he entered won and lost. His family had been soldiers, hunters and tradesman. “Logan Jones. Marksmen is my job class. Entertaining women is my leisure time.” He said and got some laughter at the end of his words from the youths.

Harold snorted shaking his head and blinked freeing Logan from the spell. Logan rolled his shoulders as he stared at Harold now.

Harold’s magical eyes still glowed with power but amusement was in them as well directed Logan now. “Well Marksman. Are you trained in any other weapons besides firearms and such?” He asked and punched a little magic in his words at the end to make it a command.

Logan felt punch but he was able too keep on his feet and keep his mind focused. “My people taught me to use all kinds of weapons in combat. I also have a talent for using many kinds of magic.” He said.

Logan could see the interest in Harold’s golden magical eyes now. The wizards behind him as well were perked up with interest at Logan now. “Healing magic. That can be very useful in heroes group. Do you have talents in that?” Harold asked.

Logan shrugged. “A little bit here and little bit there. It depends on what you’re paying me.” He said and got a shocked silence afterward.

Harold stared at him in surprise. “You have been called to be a hero for this land. A fated savior for the good people of Grim OLD. A land of peace and-” Harold said but he stopped when Logan opened his mouth wide and yawned. Harold’s wide eyes and face showed shocked amusement.

Logan waved a hand. “Ah yeah. Mr. King. I don’t give a damn about that shit. I’ll do the job you called me here to do. I just got a small fee for it and I’ll fit into the position you want. I don’t work for free.” He said.

Harold stared at him. His eyes glowed staring at Logan scanning his body and then he nodded at Logan. “What is your small fee?” He asked.

Logan nodded. “I want knowledge on light and fire magic. That’s my fee.” He said.

Harold seemed to relax visibly and even smiled as he nodded his head. “Indeed. You will be given that training more then enough training. We have combat teachers that will help you.” He said.

Logan shook his head. He knew already knowing where Harold was trying to screw him over again for a second time. The trainers wouldn’t teach him shit or give him the skills needed for his plan. “No that’s not what I mean. I want books and space and time to get myself ready for whatever job you called us here to do. Respectfully I’ve already have training from experienced warriors and such.” He said.

Harold looked a little annoyed but laughed it off. “It must be a miscommunication between us or you are not hearing me clearly. I said you would get what you combat teachers that will help you onward in your destiny. Enough talk. Your teachers are at the door and will lead in education and training.” He said a little bit more heatedly with smile. The crowd seemed to calm and smile at his face.

Logan knew it was the magical charm he was using on them. Logan shrugged seeing this conversation going a direction he didn’t care to go.

He ignored Harold as he stared at the wizards behind Harold. His gaze focused on a wizard staring at him.

Logan remembered him. The wizard had a position he held in the castle library. A plan formed in his head as a smile curved his lips. He looked at Harold to see him studying Logan very closely not smiling now.

Logan turned to Darla and putting his arm around the back of her hips. He then started guiding her to the crowd meeting at the exit. Darla frowned at him not saying anything at how casual he had taken to leading her around. Logan saw Princess Jasmine wave at him and give a pretty smile. She stood among the kidnapped youths waiting for him.

“Do you care if I have a mate already?” Darla asked in a light tone that implied she didn’t care much herself. She was just asking a question.

Logan shook his head staring at her face. “None whatsoever. Why should I? You want me. I want whole bunch of you so nobody else should matter at all between us but a good time. You smell very nice.” He said smoothly.

Darla moved closer. “Thank you!” She said softly.

Experiment: Logan Jones (Rebirth) Ch2

Logan blinked several times and then realized he was alive. He stood was again back in King Harold’s magical summoning great hall room. He was surrounded by many other young people ages from sixteen to twenty-one. It was a mixed group of youths all under the age of thirty. Though not all of them were from earth as Logan. He was dressed in a black shirt, jeans and boots. The same clothes he had had on when he had been working at his Uncle Frank’s gun range. He realized he had really gone back in time. He had gone back to the day he had been summoned to this world.

Many of the young people were from many worlds and in the realm. Logan knew most of them. There were more then a few handful youths that were going to die soon. Only a few of them would reach the country ruled by the demon lord herself.

He felt a sense he was repeating a moment in his past again. Only it was reliving a breath of a moment of confusion before a nightmare was about to begin. He was back where he started. The beginning from the day he had been summoned to this place with the others.

He looked around finding the members of the group he was going to be attached to in a few minutes. He ducked away behind a pillar away from the crowd of confused youths. “System menu!” He said.

His system menu appeared before him. It was a floating menu in front of him no one could see but himself. The pale blue floating menu listed his name and skill set.

Logan Jones

Class: Bard

Level: 219

Skills: Song magic. Minor healing. Marksmanship. Charm. Intelligence.

Alliances: None

There it was. A short list of all that he had going for him. He had upgraded to level 200 at least. He still didn’t have the necessary skills to survive this world. That was going to change though. He looked up when he felt someone watching him.

It was Darla. She stood taller then every youth in the group dressed like a archer in dark deer leather armor. She staring at him with sexual interest. She even gave him a little smile. A shy smile. He got a flash back to the first time he had saw her. He smiled and gave her wink. Her cheeks flushed with heat and her eyes were excited. He quickly looked away. He was surprised.

Darla was virgin and she had had a crush on him from the start. Well that wasn’t true. Darla had a obsession of Logan the first time they met. Logan had to shake himself out of that mod of thinking. This was the first time they met.

“CHOSEN HEROES. COME FOREWORD. WELCOME TO THE REALM OF GRIM OLD.” The chief wizard adviser spoke up from the front calling the kidnapped “heroes” to the front. King Harold and his wizards stood with him.

Harold was a tall handsome man dressed in shinning magical armor for effect. Harold studied them with his magical eyes. Logan felt that magical eye lock on him once before moving on to the others.

Logan noticed when Harold’s attention locked on Vince. Vince was dressed in a white military navy academy uniform and he stood out among the crowd. Vince had just graduated from military school with honors. Logan followed the crowd staying in the back mostly but he did notice how Darla was drawing closer to him.

Princess Jasmine a beautiful golden hair witch dressed in white armor. She stood to her father’s right watching the crowd. She was studying them all. She focused on Logan then. He knew the plan she had going in her head. She had played him and distracted him in pivotal moments that cost him time and education in magic.

He had to block that witch from fucking with his plan. Darla was close enough now. He turned toward when the others were up front more and they were the last to gather closer. The king was about to make a bullshit speech to enchant the crowd of fools into a death march.

Logan held out his hand to her. “I’m Logan Jones. What’s your name?” He asked her smoothly.

Darla stared at his face before she snapped out of her sexual trance before she took his hand. She started to speak in her own language until it shifted into something I could understand. “I’m Darla Demure of Saints. My profession is archer and magical warrior. What is your profession Mr. Logan?” She said.

Logan nodded. “Nice to meet you Darla. I am a marksman by trade and a I like to entertain people especially women. I hope we’ll be able too get know each other in the future in personal way. Do you like to be entertained?” He said.

Darla frowned. “You wish to have sex with me?” She asked in open honesty.

Logan nodded his head again. “Of course. That’s why I’m talking to you as you know. That’s also why you’re talking to me now. You want want to ride too. I know you do.” He said smoothly.

Darla stared at me. “Oh. Well you’re sure of yourself.” She said.

Logan smiled at her until her cheeks flushed with heat.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 33

Beau remained hidden behind his personal shield. He watched inside a dinner across the street as Rider was working inside a busting tables. Rider was working hard with a smile on his face. Beau watched Rider chatting with young and old Supers that were eating inside or working in the dinner.

Beau felt someone behind him suddenly. He didn’t react right away because he caught the scent of the female. He waited until no one was looking in their direction and then he turned toward Jessica as he put down his shield. Beau appeared before them dressed in a black shirt jeans and brown leather jacket with the Homeworld logo pin on the front of the jacket.. She jumped back but Ryu caught her around the waist and held close while he glared at Beau.

“What’s going on baby girl? How did you track my location?” Beau asked.

Jessica was dressed in a dark blue tight jumpsuit and homeworld jacket. She stared at him in surprise. Ryu towered over her standing close beside her. He was glaring at Beau. She smiled at him suddenly and tapped a pink finger nail to the homeworlder badge and communicator attached to Beau’s jacket.

“You forgot the second function of your communicator? What are you doing here?” She said. Her eyes gave off a warm glow of energy.

Beau grinned and shrugged his shoulders. “Just checking up on a old friend of mean is all.” He said with a wink and then he started walking away.

Jessica and Ryu quickly fell into step with Beau and followed him. Ryu glared at him. “The van is just around the corner. The Boss was worried about you. Why you come down to this shit hole to see that old man.” Ryu said.

Beau sighed shaking his head. “You talk like you know what the fuck is going on. You should stick to being the muscle of Homeworld like a good soldier.” He said.

Ryu grimanced. “I know enough about Rider and you, old man. He spent only twelve months doing a bid so he could walk away with a few scars and in a better start and a whole body then you had. You spent five years slaving for the government and being experimented on to keep him from being killed by the normals or worse. You ended up with a broken Broken body, a crippled alcoholic forgotten legend. He ended up looking like a fucking pretty boy hero. You should fucking hate that asshole for having it so easy.” He said.

Beau laughed as a memory hit him like a brick to the face. It was the first time he was experimented on. It had been the first painful and humilating time but every period afterward had been a walk in the park compared to the first time. The thought of dying got easier after that for him once he realized it was only going to be him out of all his people and Vlad’s children.

Ryu flenched back but then he glared at Beau. “Your a fucking crazy old asshole bro. Your fucking nuts. I don’t understand you.” He said.

Beau sighed but said nothing as he shook his head.

“Ryu! That’s enough.” Jessica said. She turned to Beau. “He doesn’t mean to so rude. I think he’s coming to understand you more clearly.” She said.

Beau chuckled shaking his head at Ryu. Beau feeling the ach in his legs start to begin as he walked to a black utility Homeworld van parked on a corner. “You need to stop fishing in other people’s heads for shit that isn’t your business. I did what I did and I saved as many of my people as I could. I consider that a win.” He said.

“The war isn’t over old man. We got eyes on us from the bitch in the white house.” Ryu said.

“Shit. What the fuck does that fucking bitch want now?! Fucking sum ah bitch.” Beau said and started limping quickly to the van. The back door slid open and masked female dressed in all leather. The lower half of her face was covered by a black mask. Her dark eyes were playful as she greeted him.

“Hey baby.” Angel said in a warm intimate voice. She offered her hand to him.

Beau smiled. “Hey beautiful. Wonderful to see your wonderful shapely body again.” He said taking her hand.

Angel quickly grabbed his arm yanking him inside the van and held him close. “Next time tell us when your going out for a bit. You had me worried.” She said in a shaky husky voice.

Jessica followed inside and Ryu slid the door closed as he got inside the front passenger side door. The van took off as Beau started sweating as Angel gave him a black water bottle offering it to him and helping him to drink down the contents.

Beau felt mildly refreshed taking in the drink before he waved the bottle and it’s contents away from his mouth. He looked to Ryu whom was glancing back at his face. “When did the normals start turning their eyes on homeworld? Is it because of what happened with Martin’s son or Rider getting out?” He asked.

Ryu stared at him. “They want you back old man. They sent the boss a offer to be nice but that’s only the beginning.” He said knowingly.

“Shit!” Beau said with a grimance.

“Beau. Don’t worry. My dad isn’t going to turn on you. He knows what will happen if he allowed them to take you again.” Jessica said.

Beau shook his head. “He didn’t allow it the first time someone had to be taken. They wanted you and your siblings. I didn’t have choice.” He said bluntly.

Jessica stared at him with tears in her eyes. “I’m sorry you suffered because of us.” She said.

Beau closed his eyes blocking out her face. He tried to steady his mind and breathing not to think about the past again.

“Beau. Baby. We need you to relax.” Angel said wiping down his sweaty face.

Beau shook his head. “Fucking bullshit distraction. I’ve been out of the game to long now and I’m used up and I’m old. I don’t believe that bullshit for a second. Ah shit.” He said in grunt of pain at the end as his metal legs gave way and he sat on the seat leg less again. “Damn legs gave out again.” He said in a funny voice as he caught them looking at him differently. Not like good old joking Techno. But, like the Blue Technomancer of the past. He didn’t like it.

Ryu stared at Beau. He shook his head at Beau. “I don’t believe your act anymore old man and neither do the normals in the white house.. They going to attempt to start bribing you back in to the military before they go into direct threats against either you or the people around you.” He said.

Ryu shook his head. “No. No. We don’t have time for this shit. Rider is free. Homeworld is on the rise and my people are safe. I can’t let them win. I didn’t survive through that shit for it to end up like this. Fuck em. I’ll figure out something.” He said quietly. His mind began to work fast as he went over possible plans and strategies.

Ryu shook his head staring at Beau. He saw into Beau’s mind like fish bowl. “No. You’re going back to Homeworld and the Boss is going to do the figuring out part. You signed on for that. Your not going back to them. So just stop thinking what your thinking and sit tight and pretend to be a weak old man all you like and sell that shit to some other sucker it only worked on me once.” He said with a snide smile and chuckle.

Beau flipped him off. “Fuck you too.” He said.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 29

Martin sat in his office at a loss for what to do next. He had a lot to do and a lot of people to put in the ground. The only problem was he didn’t know where to start.

“Mr. Remo. Mr. Lucas wishes to see you.” Nikita said over his communicator.

Martin stared at his computer screen waiting staring at footage that took place a several hours ago.

“Tell him to give me ten minutes.” Martin said touching his communicator.

“He says to take your time. He’ll be waiting to give you a report of what he learned.” Nikita said.

Martin turned in his chair. He waved a hand and the memories from a few hours ago were projected from his mind toward his window. He sat back watched his past events play back.

Martin watched the memory of himself sitting in a cafe. He was watching live footage camera feed inside as his team raided the building. All they found were fallen SD agents.

Martin’s projected memory faded away. Martin stared at the city. He got to his feet and touched his communicator attached to his collar. “Come in Beau.” He said.

“Copy that!” Beau said.

A few seconds later Beau rolled into Martin’s office in his wheelchair. He found Martin alone staring off at the city his back to Beau.

“How did he turn Ethan?” Martin asked.

“Drugs. Got him hooked to some new shit that fucked him up and put him under his control.” Beau said. “Anything else you want to know?” He said.

“Did you find out why he killed Ethan? Did the President order the hit.” Martin asked.

Beau put his phone on Martin’s desk. “I recorded his confession. I had to break him. He said the government wants Jessica bad. He said the issue take down the only thing protecting her from them.” He said.

Martin nodded. “Homeworld. What part did the others play in Ethan’s death?” He asked.

“Nothing. They were puppets literally. They had no control over it. Either case they didn’t have a choice. Funny thing is they said their mission was only to convince her or capture and force her into the program. They have no idea why Agent Hall went as far as he did. None of it made sense to me. I did a little bit more digging though when I searched his apartment and computer. I found deleted emails and messages and reports. He was working for somebody else on side.” Beau said.

Martin frowned. “Who?” He said.

“Your competition. Do you remember the other two gangs back in New York?” Beau said quietly.

Martin froze and then he nodded. “Yeah. The Wakers and The Wicked sisters. I thought Rider and Artemus took them all out. Was that a lie or do you think Rider and Artemus were working for them?”

“The answer was pretty simple. They got the Wakers. They missed taking out the Sisters. They missed their targets and now we have to deal with them now.” Beau said.

“So the sisters are alive?!” Martin said softly. “Holy shit.” He said.

Beau nodded. “Yeah. Their government consultants as well. They want you out. Ethan was the first target your the next one. I’m sorry.” He said.

Martin shook his head. “I should have seen this coming. This is my fault.” He said.

Beau shook his head. “You did the best you could with the knowledge you had. It doesn’t matter now. It’s done we can only move forward. We know their alive now and we know they want you and Homeworld out of the picture. So we need to act plan and act accordingly with that in mind.” He said.

Martin turned toward him. “How did you figure out how to use to teleportation so soon I thought it would take you ten years.”

Beau shook his head. “It wasn’t teleportation. I blended my body into my environment.” He said stiffly.

“Can you replicate it so that the team can use it on missions?” Martin asked.

Beau’s eyes looked back and forth in thought and he grimaced. “I don’t know. It’s not really technology I made. It’s mutation part of my body. There is a chance I can make a suit. I would have to do test prototypes that will explode from an energy burst. I also don’t know if the effort will be useful compared to teleportation.” He said.

Martin grimaced shaking his head. “Alright. Keep working on the Teleporter device. We’re having a memorial for Ethan tomorrow. You’ll be there.” He said.

“What about Ryu?” Beau asked.

Martin frowned. “He’s staying on. He’s the strongest Warrior we have. One way or another we will figure out how to turn him in to something manageable. I just got one question for you though.” He said turning to face Beau.

Beau nodded his head. He noticed Martin looking at his legs. He smiled. “I’m good.” He said.

Martin shook his head. “That’s bullshit you can tell the others brother. Just between me and you.” He said.

Beau nodded. “I have a shit kicking headache and my fucking nubs hurt like hell. Other then that.” He said with shrug.

Martin stared at him. “I don’t want you using your powers. I brought you in for your mind and because you’ve been loyal to me and my family.” He said.

Beau shook his head. “You paid me back a hundred fold by doing your best to get you kids out and keep them alive. I just came here to see if Angel was planning. You don’t owe anything.” He said.

Martin shook his head. “It was a mistake for us to bring you in. The sisters are going to come after you now with a vengeance. This is going to be all out war until we take those bitches out finally.” He said.

Beau smiled. “Bring them on boss. Bring them on.” He said.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 25

“Where the fuck is that legless old asshole.” Ryu snarled as he entered the lab.

Beau had a young woman on his lap while he was taking down her measurements for a suit. He held a finger up.

“Give me a minute Dragon.” Beau said.

Ryu snapped his fingers at the girl telling him to go with a head motion. She grimaced but nodded and gave Beau a kiss on the cheek.

“I want my suit in hot pink Honey.” The girl said as she got up.

Beau grinned at her. “I can’t wait to see you put it on and take it off when we go to bed when it’s done. Sugar.”

Sugar giggled. “You make it good enough. I’ll call you up on that Honey.” She blew him a kiss before hurrying out the doors.

Beau looked at Ryu. “I am not making you a suit.”

Ryu flushed. “You old fucking pervert. You got my….Jessica walking around in that skin tight. Lingerie. What the fuck is your problem Yo. You want to die?” He said.

“Hey” Jessica said a distance away as she came into the room.

Jessica had blue vail over half her face in place. Today, she was dressed in a dark blue skin tight uniform with a deer skin Homeworld jacket on. Beau waved her over toward them. “Your boyfriend has a problem with your uniform? Your looking by the way. Isn’t she guys?” He said calling everyone’s attention to Jessica.

Jessica walked over with a sway to her hips as lab members whistled at her in admiration. She blushed and came to stand between them and faced off against Ryu. “You need to stop. It’s just body armor. Beau designed it to curve to my body. It’s meant for protection.” She said.

Ryu stared at her. “The fuck?! I can see your fucking hard nipples and your fat ass jiggling.”

“I-I do not have a fat ass and I am not your girlfriend. What fuck are you harping on Beau for? I chose to wear his suit.” Jessica said crossing her arms across her chest to hide her breasts from his view.

“Hey now.” Beau said pulling them apart. He shook his finger at Ryu. “Jessica does not have a fat ass. Your being mean. She has a wonderful round delightful ass and a pair of crafted tities and a nice pair of legs.”

“You mother-” Ryu said as his eyes glowed. Fire came out of his mouth in gusts.

Jessica blocked his view of Beau and stood looking up at his face while her breast poked up against his chest. “Don’t attack my family.” She said.

“He ain’t no blood to you.” Ryu said looking past her to Beau.

Beau flipped him off. Ryu snarled out flames. Jessica grabbed his chin turning his head to her.

His flames breathed the flames on her face. Jessica stared back without fear. “My father calls him brother and he saved my family. He is Homeworld. He is my family. Family doesn’t hurt family. Ever! So stop being a jealous asshole. We aren’t a couple.”

“I can have you any time I want. Chicka.” He said wrapping his arm around her. Blue and pink flames wrapped around them.

Beau watched as Jessica’s eyes changed to lIght up with wild peach glow. She snarled like a cat and attacked Ryu. Jessica started kissing his face and lips. Ryu laughed as grabbed her ass. Beau started to form a 1911 pistol in his hand.

Suddenly, Ryu was pulled away from Jessica. He turned breathing out fire only to have his head snapping back from a uppercut to his chin. Ryu snarls as he swings his fist at his attacker only to hit air. His arm is twisted back as his head is driven down into Beau’s desk.

Ethan then let’s him up suddenly. Ryu looks at Ethan. “Stand do-ahh!”

Ethan kicks Ryu between the legs and downs him with a punch to the throat. Ryu is holding his throat choking and coughing. Ethan stares at him.

Ethan swings his leg and kicks Ryu in the stomach hard. Ryu gasps and cries out in pain. Beau held out his pistol to Ethan. “You need this? He may doesn’t understand the situation.”

Ethan shook his head. He looked down at Ryu. “You understand the situation, Ryu. Right? I can kill you at any time and any place if you step over the line again. Keep your fucking hands off my sister unless she is fine with you touching her. I’ll see you coming Ryu. I’ll kill you before you even act on it. Your not the Boss here. Your not the King. Your just another soldier here. You get out of line. I will end your ass at any time. You fire tricks don’t mean shit to me. I will end you.” He said softly. “You have two weeks in lock up for in subordination. Take your sorry ass to lock up and don’t say a word to anyone.”

“You piece of shit.” Jessica said before kicking Ryu in the testicles and walking out.

Ethan stared at Ryu as moaned. “Get your ass up and walk to lock up. I’m not saying it again.”

Ryu worked himself up with using the desk. Ethan moved forward. Ryu backs up and walks away carefully staring at Ethan and watchful of him as he exited the lab.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 24

Beau was in a new element and had decided it was time he reinvented himself. It was the end of the day and he was lying back on his new bed in his new apartment slowly drifting asleep as he planned to make the most of his new life. As his mind drifted into a peaceful sleep the scent of lavender and spice drifted close around him.

Martin Remo looked out over the city from his skyscraper office building. He wondered if he was making the right decision. He wondered still some times if Technomancer was just playing some long term game on him, just waiting to strike at Martin for fucking him over like he did.

“Dad. Your thinking to hard about this.” Jessica said from behind him.

He turned fixing a smile on his face that neither of his elder son Ethan or youngest adult daughter Jessica bought. He sighed. “What’s he look like?”

Ethan shook his head. “Not good. Three years of prison. Most of it in the hospital and two final years of being slaved to the government and he’s pretty used up. His mind is still there but his body is pretty broken.”

“Mr. Lucas’ mind is what I want for my team.” Jessica said stiffly sending her brother a side glare. “I don’t want him in any combat situation at all.”

Ethan smiled at her. “I meant. If he’s pretty used up physically then the Government won’t be looking when you grab him up from the street.”

“Your sure. He isn’t a government agent?” Martin asked.

Ethan sighed. “Dad. Everyone has abandoned him. His family. His friends. He’s barely holding on. I want to bring him in before he dies on the fucking street. He doesn’t deserve that.”

“We are not bringing him here as a charity case.” Jessica said. “We’re bringing him in for his mind and technical skills. We’ve checked him out. I need him on my team. The both of you need to stop thinking of the past. I need his engineering help. He isn’t under any government contract. I’m grabbing him up before someone else does. Besides the fact. We have no connection to him.”

Martin stared at her. “The government is still watching him. That’s why he’s hidden himself and is homeless on the damn street. He wants to appear useless to anyone so they’ll leave him the hell alone. If you invite him over into Homeworld that ends and he’s right back on their shit list.”

Ethan stared at him. “Your worried about him.” He said.

“Mr. Lucas is his own man.” Jessica said. “Let him decide how to run his own life. I’ll offer him a job…nothing more.”

Martin stared at her. “Don’t tell him about me. I know he will resent me for how his end of our deal turned up.”

His children stared at him. Ethan shook his head. “Mr. Lucas wasn’t expecting to live as long as he did. He knew-“

“-He didn’t know anything only that dealing with the normals ended up with him ending up dead along with his friends and people. I promised him I would come back for him.”

Jessica nodded. “Then keep your promise. All we’re going to do is offer him a job. He might surprise you and be happy we survived. That’s what he wanted.”

Martin turned away. “That would be worse. I would prefer his anger.”

“Why?” Ethan asked.

“Because it would mean I let a man that called me brother suffer at the hands of our enemies as a slave while he kept the secret that we lived to himself. I don’t understand a man like that. What little he gave us provided the start for Homeworld. While I left him just like the rest of those jackasses and that fucker Rider.”

“Your over complicating it.” Angel said. “The reason your afraid to bring him on is because of me. It’s the reason you haven’t looked at me yet sense I came into the room. You don’t have to worry Martin. You’re doing the right thing.. Your keeping your word.”

Beau conscious mind began to stir awake as he tried and failed see her clear enough to make her out in the dream. Angel was vague figure in the room no one looked at her directly. He sighed as he turned his mind back to the events in the dream that had already taken place.

Martin grimaced shaking his head. “You used me and lied to me about the expansion of your powers.” He said. “He’ll recognize you. He isn’t going to like you being here. Whatever your planning won’t work out.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure of that. Remember. I didn’t come looking for you. You hired me Martin. You need Techno on the team, Boss and another set of eyes on Ryu. He’s going to love working here.” She said in a totally female way.

Beau felt her look toward him and smile. Beau groaned at his immediate all male reaction.

“Alright Jessica go pick him. Angel get back to work.” Martin cursed softly.

Beau opened his eyes and sighed. “Damn it, Angel. You just made my female chasing a little more tricky. Fuck it. I can’t sleep now. I might as well get some work done.”

Beau was in a new element and had decided it was time he reinvented himself. It was the end of the day and he was lying back on his new bed in his new apartment slowly drifting asleep as he planned to make the most of his new life.

That’s why he’s hidden himself and is almost homeless on the damn street. He wants to appear useless to anyone so they’ll leave him the hell alone. If you invite him over into Homeworld that ends and he’s right back on their shit list.” He said.

Ethan stared at him. “Your worried about him.” He said seeing the tension his father’s body and grim expression.

Jessica straightened up and looked pointedly at her father. “Mr. Lucas is his own man.” Jessica said. “Let him decide how to run his own life. I’ll offer him a job…nothing more.”

Martin stared at her. “Don’t tell him about me. I know he will resent me for how his end of our deal turned up.” He said.

His children stared at him. Ethan shook his head. “Mr. Lucas wasn’t expecting to live as long as he did. He knew-” He began but Martin’s violent shake of his head made him pause.

“-He didn’t know anything only that dealing with the normals ended up with him ending up dead along with his friends and people. I promised him I would come back for him. That I would figure out a way to get him out of the mess. I didn’t keep my promise.” Martin said turning his back to his children again to stared out at the city.

Jessica nodded. “Then keep your promise now. All we’re going to do is offer him a job. He might surprise you and be happy we survived. That’s what he wanted.”

Martin smirked shaking his head in frustration. “That would be worse. I would prefer his anger.” He said.

“Why?” Ethan asked.

“Because it would mean I let a man that called me brother suffer at the hands of our enemies as a slave while he kept the secret that we lived to himself. I don’t understand a man like that. What little he gave us provided the start for Homeworld. While I left him just like the rest of those jackasses and that fucker Rider.” He said.

“Your over complicating it.” Angel said gentle. “The reason your afraid to bring him on is because of me. It’s the reason you haven’t looked at me yet sense I came into the room. You don’t have to worry Martin. You’re doing the right thing.. Your keeping your word.” She said with the hint of laughter in her voice.

Angel was vague figure in the room no one looked at directly. Beau couldn’t see her clear enough to make her out in the dream.

Martin grimaced. “You used me and lied to me about the expansion of your powers.” He said. “He’ll recognize you. He isn’t going to like you being here. Whatever your planning won’t work out.” He said.

“I wouldn’t be so sure of that. Remember. I didn’t come looking for you. You hired me Martin. You needed Techno on the team, Martin and another set of eyes on Ryu. He’s going to love working here.” She said in a totally female way.

Beau felt her look toward him and smile. Beau groaned at his immediate all male reaction. She was seventeen the last time he saw her now she would about maybe twenty two or three. She was showing a lot of maturity and growth in all the right places to bring a thirsty man like him down.

“Alright Jessica go pick him. Angel get back to work. You made your case. I still think your over estimating yourself and you should keep the hell away from him.” Martin cursed softly.

Beau opened his eyes and sighed. “Damn it, Angel. You just made my female chasing a little more tricky. Fuck it. I can’t sleep now. I might as well get some work done.”

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 23

Beau rolled out of the van on the curb of Blue building that glowed with a tint of alien energy. He stared at it as Jessica came to stand beside him on the street corner. “I thought the government took this place down two years ago.” He said.

“It was deemed unsafe to do so by engineers and meta scientists.” Jessica said. “The corporation put in an offer and bought it and the neighboring builds at a steal. This is the main head courters of Homeworld ink. Are you ready to go in?” Jessica asked but then proceeded toward the entrance anyway.

Beau hesitated but then he rolled himself into the building in his wheelchair following close behind the round backside of Jenny. He caught himself staring at her long legs in open admiration and affection while he ignored the weird Dajivu feeling of entering the building he hadn’t seen or entered sense the last time he saw his old girlfriend and he knew his old life was gone.

The place had plenty of young Supers going in and out of it. They greeted Jessica warmly in friendly and very familiar ways as they pasted her. They gave him a passing look and nods.

Beau noticed the common logo on their dark brown leather jackets. It was a blue world logo on the breast pockets or biceps of the jacket. He took note of the atmosphere in the place. It reminded him of the old days being around Rider, E and the others. They had all left him behind and gone on too bigger and better things. While he had-

“Mr. Lucas. Welcome to Homeworld.” A man said.

Vlad

Beau froze recognizing the tone and thick Russian American accent of Vlad’s voice immediately. It was a shock to his system. He looked slowly to his right and up at a man he didn’t know in a grey suit and red tie greeted him with a smile and charm almost equal to Jessica. This man wasn’t Vlad. Yet, Beau knew for damn sure he was. The stranger held out his hand as he approached Beau.

Beau took his hand in a firm shake. “Hello. Mr…” He said and paused for Vlad to give him a name.

“Remo. Martin Remo. It is a pleasure to see you here. I take it your interested in joining Homeworld. We would be more then pleased to have a techno wizard like yourself on board.” Martin said.

Beau nodded his head slowly. “Yeah. Sure. I am. How are the rest of your kids. Everyone fine?” He said.

Martin smiled warmly. “They’re all fine and well brother. All working in the company. How have you been?” He said.

Beau shrugged and let go of Martin’s hand. “Life has been shit for me. Though I hadn’t expected to live as long as I have.. But, seeing how things have shaped up for you and your kids. I’m glad about the decisions I made. It was well worth the bullshit so don’t worry about it.” He said.

Martin stared at Beau and then he nodded taking out a thin cigar and lighting the end up. He blew out smoke out the side of his mouth. “My daughter. She’s into your field of work. We’re going to need you to help out her team with-” He said.

“Anything you need. I’m here to help. I can’t do anything for you combat wise but my mind and technical skills are yours.” Beau said immediately.

Martin paused and patted his shoulder. “You hid yourself well.. It took me longer then I wanted to find you. I didn’t think they would let you go brother. I do need you.” He said.

Beau waved away the comment. “Don’t worry about it. I would not change a thing of what I did. Well…maybe I would have acted a lot sooner.” He said and turned to Jessica who was wiping away a few tears. “Alright Miss Remo. Let’s take a look at your lab. Now I’m more then a little interested in whatever projects you have going on for me to check out. Lead the way.”

Jessica’s lips shook. “Mr. Lucas. I would like to thank you.” She said.

Beau held up a hand. “Thank me? For what? You need to be thanking your Daddy for the fancy business he’s provided for you and your siblings.” Beau said and looked around himself at the building and then at Martin’s grinning face. “I was told by your charming daughter you have an excellent selection of beautiful young females here.” He said.

Martin laughed and patted his shoulder. “Oh. Now I see why you came running down here.” He said.

“Damn straight, Boss. I came to go fishing for some pretty girls to charm the pants off.” Beau said.

Martin shook his head. “Don’t call me Boss, brother. This is your home now. You won’t have anything to worry about from now on. Now. I have meetings to get to. Jessica will take you down to the lab. I saw the light in your eyes lite for some work to do. You’ll get more then your fair share. Afterward she’ll give you the tour around the compound and your new apartment. Sounds good?” He said.

Beau nodded grinning. “Sounds like a fun time. I can’t wait to see this lab.” He said.

Beau paused at the entrance to the lab and stared at the virtual display of a soldier crutched to the ground with a high powered rifle with laser sights aimed at a target.

The soldier fired the rifle. The weapon jumped to the left wildly while the soldier remained still. He hit the target’s left edge.

A second later the weapon exploded in the soldier’s hands setting him on fire. Two soldiers then came with a thermo blankets and rolled the man over on the ground while trying to put out the fire.

The video then fades to black with the soldier laying on his back breathing heavily and cursing. The others just sat with him quiet.

Beau frowned as he wheeled himself inside as the screen changed to blue prints of the weapon. He studied the blue prints coming to stop in front of the screen. “Whose the designer and engineer?” He asked.

“Christopher Ivins created the design that utilizes Alien crystal energy. The engineer is Own Whetstone. He works for Homeworld.” She said.

Beau frowned. “Did he give any notes or objections to the rushed design and manufacturing problem?” He asked folding his hands together.

“Objections. Yes. He wanted five years more years to get it right. He said the core design was shit.” Jessica said.

Beau smiled. “I like him already.” He said.

“So you have nothing more to add.” A male voice asked.

Beau frowned at the voice recognizing the owner of it from some where. He turned and looked up to the man.

The fire breather looked back at him with recognition of who Beau was only annoyance. The man’s glowed with held back blue fire. That was different meaning this man had gotten stronger while Beau had gotten weaker.

It was an ego blow but the fire breather’s words made him think of something. Beau schooled his facial expression. “You called me to ask if I had a hand in it’s design. I thought of something like this when I was slaved to the government. They kept all my designs and scapes so it….hmm.” Beau turned from the man back to the screen again.

“What are you thinking?” The fire breather asked.

Beau didn’t want to say. His mouth opened though. “If you scape the core design and make it a automatic or semiautomatic then your problem is solved. I expect whoever sold the design to Homeworld wanted you to run through soldiers before you figured out it was all intentional.” He said.

“You have any dealings in it? The energy charged design fail? That’s what they paid you to do, right? Make sure designer weapons went boom at the right moment.” He said.

Beau frowned at the question. “Paid? What fuck are you smoking. It wasn’t a job. It was little more then outdoor prison slave labor. They just released me a couple of months back from my conscripted service. They told me to make things that worked. I don’t make shit. Our younger brothers and sisters are in for the longer haul then you or I. Their not not lucky like you are?” He said.

“Lucky? How am I lucky and how do you know me?” He said.

Beau smiled. “I had a friend a couple of years back. She had a nice ability of showing people possible death outcomes. I saw you burn me alive with that fire breathing trick of yours. But, really the reason why your so lucky is because your using your voice and power to control what I say. The trick with your power has a double edge to it. You can have what you want but no one alive or in this room should trust a man like you because they’ll never knew when you’ll ask them to kill themselves if they have an objection to you trying to screw their sisters and mothers in front of them.” He paused and looked at the fire breather again.

His eyes were normal now and he looked pissed off. Beau stared at him. “What’s your name?” He said.

“Ryu. Ryu Osuka. The Dragon King. I rock with lightning and fire.” He said in a heavily Americanized English accent.

Beau whistled and nodded his head. “That’s a fancy gangster rapper name. I’m Beau Lucas. My people call me Techno. I make toy robots and other techno gadgets. Nice to meet you formally.” He said.

Ryu grunted and looked at Jessica. “He’s good. I got to head on to work Shorty. Later.” He said sneaking a kiss on her cheek and a open ass grab before he headed out the door.

Jessica’s face was bright red with embarrassment and pleasure. She smiled at Beau. “Sorry about that. Ryu is..still very friendly type. He was here for security purposes. I hope you understand.” She said.

Beau sat back and stared at her. “So he’s still in the friend zone and can grab your ass that means I have a chance?” Beau asked with a wink and grin.

Jessica’s mouth was wide open on a surprise as Beau turned his gaze back to the blue print. “I suggest you take out the core and remodel the weapon to be automatic if you can get away with it. I can help with the design and engineering. The rest of the investigation stuff. I’ll leave that to hire ups. Now, I’m going to need the prettiest boss in the room to lead me around show me around this place.” He said turning to a shocked face Jessica. “That would be you right?!” She said.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 22

Beau heard the buzzing of his alarm clock go off on the floor beside. He reached for his bottle and brought it to his lips only to find it was empty. He sat on his futon bed and threw the empty bottle of Jack Danel’s against the wall smashing it against the white wall of his tiny closet apartment. His toy robots started waking up now he had to get up and use the bathroom.

He crawled to the bathroom, relieved himself and then washed up. When he was done he crawled back inside his bedroom and started getting dressed. He was dressed when he heard a knock on his door before it was opened with a keycard.

Two twin young men skin Supers came into his apartment. They glared at him. “Techno. Man. You drunk again?” Alex Wade asked him.

“Techno bro. This is to much.” Dexter Wade said.

Beau snorted shaking his head. “I had a bad night. I’m not drunk. I have hang over from last night. I’m ready to go. Just get my stuff ready. I got to make to make my rent and fill you two gentlemen’s pockets.” He said before he pulled himself up into his wheel chair. He smiled and reached down to carelessly roll up his futon over and then started wheeling himself to the door.

The two brothers said nothing but hurried to get a table and toys ready. Beau sighed wheeling himself to the elevator as his two friends and helpers got his table and box of merchandise. They took the stairs while he waited for the elevator to arrive.

It took a bit of time but soon enough the elevator arrived and the automatic doors opened up. A man in a dark suit and sunglasses was waiting for him. Beau wheeled himself inside nodding to the man. He spun around. “Could you hit the 1st floor.” He asked.

The man nodded silently hitting it and the doors closed. They were both silent as they went down stairs. The man in sunglasses turned to Beau. “Mr. Lucas. I take it.” He said.

“I’m not interested.” Beau said.

“I work with a particular organization that is interested in hiring you for your brilliant mind. A hundred grand a year plus benefits and an studio apartment.” He said.

Beau smiled. “Do you work for BlackWater?” He asked.

The man was silent. “Hmm. Yes. That is remarkably excellent guess on your part.” He said.

Beau shook his head. “I’ve had a lot of offers sense I’ve been let off from the government. You were the last one. I was expecting to come and a hundred thousandth a year sounds like minimum wage with today’s with the weight of inflations going. All I’m interested in is dying quietly and being left the fuck alone.” He said.

“If it’s the government having a problem with you working with us. I can assure you-” He began but stopped when Beau looked at him.

“I’ve seen you watching me for a bit of time. I also seen the fed your working with tailing me when I was trying to talk a good time girl into giving me a discount on head rub. I’m not interested in working for the government directly or indirectly anymore. No games. I just want to die quietly and be left the fuck alone. Sorry brother. I’m only interested in living quietly as much as I can. I don’t have that long on me and my days are pretty much drinking and trying not to think of anything to make to end myself. So with all due respect fuck off.” He said.

The elevator door opened and the man smiled taking off his sunglasses revealing his glowing mirrored eyes. “Good evening to you brother.” He said and walked away out of the elevtor.

Beau sighed and wheeled himself out toward the front of the apartment building on to the side walk where his two young friends had set up his booth and he wheeled himself over as his customers started coming up to his desk.

He smiled as a young girl with horn on her head came up with dollars in her hand smiling at him. He grinned at the girl. “How’s it going baby girl. I got your doll for you right here for you.” He said reaching over to a box with package on it and handed to her the box. The girl handed the money over to him and took the box with an excited giggle.

She ran over to her parents who stood off to the side with their hoodie’s up and face masks over the lower half of their faces. They nodded to him in thanks. He nodded and put the money in the box he kept the money.

Beau looked up to the clear blue skies and sun shinning down on him. He grinned.

“These are amazing. Did you make them yourself.” A charming feminine voice called to him.

Beau was half drunk but his mind focused on the genuine admiration at his skill in making the pet robots on the table. He had been sober for two months until he got the news they had put Rider in prison for two years but not before collaring his powers.

Rider was collared and put in to the general population. If he survived Beau knew his old friend wouldn’t know how to cope with the new world again once he got out.

E had called him to promise he would be watched but her words did little to ease his mind. It had taken E five damn years to find a means of halting Rider’s biological time bomb from going off.

“Excuse me. Sir.”

Beau shook himself out of thoughts of his friend and looked up at a young blond woman dressed in an leather jacket and jeans. She stared at him with sensual sky blue eyes that had a mystical glow about them. She had average looking face and easy going smile that hinted at ready sense of humor and brown chestnut hair that reminded him of his mother. She stared down at Beau with eyes that were mystical blue mirrors of concern as she studied his face.

“I sure did Darlin. I’m a straight up wonder with making things. It’s one talent I still have going for me that is of some use.” He said.

The Beauty held his gaze. “Your hero Technomancer.” She said.

It wasn’t a question it was more like a statement of fact like she already knew him and a whole lot more.

“So…are you a back sight?” He asked.

The Beauty shook her head. “No. I have employee at my company that deals in temporal patterns but I have a friend that pointed me toward you. You are a fine engineer. I could use you on my team.”

“I don’t work for the government…anymore. I mean my own business. I don’t want no trouble.” He said kindly to her.

“Pardon me. I forgot myself. I’m Jassica Remo.” She said and gave him a card.

Beau looked at the name of the company and her position. “Senior VP of Homeworld industry. Homeworld. Interesting name. What do you do at your company?” He said and then he noticed the logo on her earth world globe on her jacket.

Jessica smiled. “We consult for private parties and act as private security for clients in need of protection or otherwise.” She said.

Beau had heard of companies like her’s when he was in the service and had fought along side some of the agents of such companies. Mercenaries. Professional Mercenaries. Hired guns. Hell who was he to judge. He had done his time under contract with the government before they sent him to prison and after.

He just had one question. “Did someone send you to me?”

Jessica smiled. “Like a said a friend pointed me in your direction. We’re based in the city and Baltimore but have operations in Hawaii as well. There is room in board a decent paycheck and you’ll work with brillant ladies and gentlemen.”

“Did Rider send you or E. You have to tell me. I most know.” Beau said surprising himself by his old charm creeping back into his voice.

Jessica giggled. “You’ll have to come with me to find out. Though. I have a guess it will be surprising for you what your friend has accomplished over such a short time period.”

It had been five years sense he saw or heard from his old crew. Rider was busy doing his super hero thing and getting cartoon shows made after him and his early beginnings.

Angel.

Damn. He hoped it wasn’t her. All the same he didn’t know and he had to find out. Beau nodded. “Alright you talked me into it. I’ll go with you.”

“That’s excellent.” Jessica said with a smile. “When would be a good time for you to visit the-“

“Today would be good enough for me. I’ll travel with you. I got a bit a cash to spend on a ticket and I got nothing holding me here. I’m ready when you are.” Beau said quickly.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 20

“What the fuck is this?” said the male mutant that was supposed to kill Beau

Beau turned to the fire and lightning breather. “This us turning ourselves in. It’s what you and the government came in here to do. Take us in.”

“Your fucking around.” The Fire breather said. “Your just fucking with us to hide your power. I’ve seen the footage of you and Rider in action.”

Beau smiled. “You sound a bit fearful. What’s a matter son? You afraid your staring at your future.”

The fire breather took out his gun and shot Beau in the chest. The bullet knocked Beau back in his seat. Beau hissed. “Son of bitch that hurt.” He gasped out and spat blood on the floor. He smiled at the Fire breather. “You must be the mercenary of the group.”

“Beau! What the fuck happened? You son of a bitch.” E said moving out of her chair and fell to the floor. “Damn it. Damn it.” She pounded her fists on the floor. “What the fuck is happening? Tell me!”

“I’m fine. Calm down. Sit down and don’t get up again.”

“Mr. Lucas. Could you explain the situation with you and your friend’s mutations.” Major Benjamin asked.

Beau pulled himself up with one arm. “The fall out of the alien’s radiation damaged our bodies in different ways. I-I died the first day and was brought back barely in this form with no legs or ability to barely function without the powers. Even then I’m limited to the time I have to spend using the powers. I’m in consent pain from using the radiation to form legs and two weeks ago I lost fifty percent ability in my right arm.

My sister behind me lost her sight and some movement functions after the blast. She can use the radiation to see blurry images of individuals forms but she can’t see in 20/20 or anything near that vision. She’s blind. It’s common for the Supers hit hardest in the hell zone to have handicapped abilities.” Beau said and looked at the fire breather. “Where you in the city when the alien landed on us?”

The fire breath frowned. He said nothing. Beau nodded though.

“You have side effects to then. You either don’t know about them or your covering them up. It’s no use living that way. Reality is still reality.” Beau said.

“What side effects does Lightning Rider have then?” Major Benjamin asked. “He seems to have more stability then you and the-“

“He’s dying.” Beau said bluntly. “Rider will be dead in less then five years because of the radiation and heart failure. He’s on borrowed time. So he has to make the most of his time before he goes. All of the people the president had on the podium have side effects of some kind that will shorten our life spans. Major. Is there a cure or some type of hospital care we can get in jail or whatever place your taking us to.”

“Stop lying to them.” E said. “There is nothing wrong with eh.” E stopped talking because she went into a coughing fit that lasted several minutes until she stopped to catch her breath slowly. “Damn it.”

Beau stared at Major Benjamin. “Is there any way you can help us? We’re willing to go to prison or do whatever service you need us to do. But, we would like some medical assistance. We’ve been surviving and waiting months for the government to let us the hell out of here so we can get treatment of some kind.. We can’t go on like this. This like a slow fucking painful death for most us.” He said.

Major Benjamin shook his head. “I’m sorry son but I can’t guarantee anything right now. We’ll take you in and I’ll talk to my supervisors for you and your friend. Once they see how serious your situation is something will have to be done. One last question before we go. What about the tunnels?”

Beau shrugged shaking his head. “We searched them and made contact with people left down there. Anything above sub ground level is dangerous enough. You go below and it’s a different world with even more deadly mutations. They die like flies down there. They want to be left alone to suffer quietly. You won’t be able to open the subway system again right now if not a hundred years from now. Can you please take us away from this place?”

Major Benjamin straightened and nodded to his people who put their weapons down. “Are you ready to leave?”

Beau snorted in laughter. “Sir. I’ve been ready to leave this prison island five months ago. If they put me in a prison hole it will be better then being in a place I’ve seen my friends die in my arms from radiation poisoning. Let’s go.”

Beau woke as he was being wheeled down a white hall way. He looked around but E was gone. He was alone. He looked behind to see a muscled guard in grey uniform pushing down the hall way toward a black door with the letters BT on it.

Beau noticed a few things. 1) The pain his legs was down to low ache. He could hear whispers behind the other closed doors to his left and right. 2) There was a strange buzzing sound coming from the florescent lights above his head. It hurt his ears to hear and made the hair on his arms stand up at attention. The last and most important thing he noticed a part of him was missing. His powers were gone. But something was off about it. He still felt it. Something of that power an echo of some kind was in his mind.

He was quiet as he neared the door and it slide open to reveal a office room with computer workstation and a single sized bed on the floor to the near wall. It was small space.

The wheeled him inside and then placed a black folder in his lap. Beau picked up and opened it to see a set of projects he would be assigned to finish for the current month for a series of weapons and technical advancements to weapon systems.

Beau knew he could get them done by the end of the month. He just wondered if he could get away with imputing melfunctions into the medels without them noticing.

“You can’t!” The guard answered hearing his thoughts.

Beau didn’t look up. “Do you know anything about weapon designs or have a degree in engineering?”

“No. But I can read your mind from a mile away and know when your planning on bullshiting the normals. I would ordered to terminate you.”

Beau nodded. “Well then sense you can’t help me with my work you take your fat ass out of my cell so I can get to work. Like you said you don’t need to be in my way to read my mind so get the fuck on bitch.”

The guard was quiet but then turned and left the room. The door slid closed and Beau heard a loud audible heavy lock fall in place on the door.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 19

Beau and Jay exited the tunnels near the spot they had come in. He looked back once while Jay walked ahead to where Angel, E and Rider were waiting for them.

The two mutants tall black cloaked that had led him the way bowed to him. Beau nodded to them.

“Stay out of trouble guys.” He said and turned to walk toward his friends. E was studying him while Rider glared at him.

“What the fuck did you do?” Rider asked.

Beau shrugged. “Did you find the targets?”

True snorted. “We found shit and dick all. Their hide outs were blown the fuck up. It will take us months to dig em out. How the fuck did you do it?”

Again Beau shrugged. “I did what needed to be done. They’re not around so-“

“What the fuck about Vlad’s kids?” Rider demanded. “We weren’t supposed to touch them.”

Beau shook his head. “I didn’t kill anybody. Least of all Vlad’s kids. Your assuming a lot buddy. E your quiet what’s on your mind?”

E stepped forward. “What have you done? Your not a smart man. What’s the game, hero?”

Beau shook his head. “I’m not a hero and there is no plan. I did what needed to be done. Anything else that happens next is up in the air. Follow my lead from on.” He said and turned to Rider.

Rider was frowning at him. “Beau. What’s going on? Did you kill those kids?”

“You know the answer to that question if you know me. If they ask you who did it. Tell them it was me and you tried to stop me but I tricked you and did it on my own. Do you understand?” He said.

Rider shook his head. “I don’t. Why do you want me to lie. I won’t lie. Your a good man. You would never do that. Why are you doing this?” He said.

“Your so stupid.” E said spat out at Rider.

Rider turned and glared at her. “What?!” He said.

“He’s trying to protect you. To keep you safe. All you have to do is-” E said.

“I won’t lie! I know what will happen if I do it. They’ll lock him up or worse. Beau isn’t a murder and I won’t say otherwise for reason and not to protect my own ass.” Rider said.

E looked at Beau. She froze. “They’re coming for you tomorrow aren’t they?” She said.

Beau shook his head. “US. They’re coming for us tomorrow. I thought I might as well give em a reason. After tomorrow night. I don’t know what will happen.”

Rider shook his head. “No. No. That’s not right.”

“It is what it is. They’ll offer you a job. You need to take it and work it until they let me go. Otherwise they’ll kill me.” Beau said.

“Damn you. It’s not going down like this. It’s not supposed to.” Rider said almost to himself.

“So you’ll do it then.” Beau said. “Your a hero. My hero at least. You got to keep us alive. So you have to work with them.” He said.

“Damn it. It wasn’t supposed to go down like this.” Rider said almost in tears.

Angel smiled and looked at Beau snd her smile froze in place. “Beau. You-“

“Your father got a job in Baltimore after the blockade comes down you’ll be moving there.” Beau said. “It’s going to be new start. Remember your promise.” He said.

Angel could only stared at him but she nodded her head slowly. “Yes. I remember my promise.” She said.

Beau watched from the sidelines while Rider and Artemus were offered job offers by the President and generals. “I’m couple days late. But I think it’s going to go down in a few hours.” Beau said.

“What the hell are you going to do Beau?” True Steel asked.

Beau shook his head. “Don’t worry about me True. I’m good.” He said.

“Is this going to be okay? Rider a mean joining them. I don’t trust it. I don’t like it even more with the way they just snubbed you off and ignored you and what you did for them.” True Steel asked him.

Beau glanced at E. She glared at Rider’s profile. “We’re not giving him to them. He’s just on loan. Eventually they cut him loose.” He said.

E finally looked at Beau. “On loan until what? He gets bored of being a hero?” He said.

Beau stared at her. “Until we find a damn a cure for him or before he becomes an issue for them. Until then we’ve got work to do. True.” He said.

“What do you need me to do?” True asked.

“Watch out for him for me. I won’t be around for some time.” Beau said and looked around toward the people getting ready to head out of the city and he nodded to Jay and Freya Newton.

He walked quickly over toward them. Angel sat in the backseat of a van not looking at Beau. He held out his hand to Jay. “I’m going to miss you Brother and your family. Thank you for all you did. I won’t forget it.” He said.

Jay took his hand in a firm shake. “Thank you Mr. Techno. We’re grateful to you for all you’ve done to keep us alive. We won’t ever forget you. Angel. Well she’s still a bit sore about us moving to Baltimore but-“

“Call me Beau. She’ll understand as she gets older.” Beau said. “You got to look out for your best interests and with most of the Blues migrating there you’ll have support and people that look like you watching your back.”

Jay seemed to relax for some reason and let go of his hand. “I couldn’t have said it more. Do you intend on joining the Supers as we move there?” He asked.

Beau shook his head. “No. I got business to finish up here and then I’m retiring from the public life. I’ll leave the heroic work to Rider. He has the face and temperament for it.” He said.

The window to the car opened. Angel looked at him. “Come with us.” She said.

Beau shook his head. “No. It’s time I went a little quiet for a bit and save you some nightmares. I want you to think about going to school and getting a degree in something useful. I’ll be alright.” He said.

Angel shook her head. “No you won’t. Mr. Rider is gone. Doctor E is gone to. Once I’m gone you’ll lose it.” She said.

Beau chuckled. “Maybe. But it’s time we parted for some time. We can’t all be together anymore. I’ll see you.” He said turning away and walking back to E’s office.

“Beau. Beau. Don’t go. It’s-” She said.

“Don’t worry so much.” Beau said and waved her off. He entered the office. It was filled with two squads and E sat at the back drinking a glass of wine.

Beau walked over calmly grabbed his wheelchair and sat down. His legs fell away turning to metal pieces on the floor. He sighed feeling relief after days of pain from walking.

“Fucking shit. That’s better.” He said.

E poured him a glass of wine and tried to hand it to him but his hand shook. She held it and put it to his lips giving him a sip and he nodded his thanks as she took it away.

Beau turned to the major Benjamin. “Major. What’s the fuss about?” He said in a tired voice.

The Major frowned. “If you try to make a weapon we will have to-“

Beau nodded. “I know. I know. No chance of that for a week if ever again. I’m out of energy but it will to keep the pain back. But, please get to the reason your here.”

Major Benjamin grimaced Beau’s arm fell limp at his side. “What’s happening to you? You look like you need a doctor son. Your falling apart.” He said with concern in his voice but he still had his hand on his pistol as he stared at him and E.

Beau shook his head. “I’m not falling apart. This is my normal state. Nothing for you to worry about. My arm is healing slowly.” He said.

“Your being overally dramatic.” E said and then blinked and grimaced. “Damn it.”

The squad frowned drawing their guns. Beau shook his head. “She’s just lost her vision for a bit. Major Benjamin. Please get to the point.” He said.

“We’re here to tie up loss ends. You need to come with us.” Major Benjamin said.

“Alright. We’ll talk about it and answer whatever questions you got to give us. We’re ready to leave afterward to go and do whatever your demand for us to do.” Beau said.

“I’m not going-” E said and then started coughing.

“Be quiet.” Beau told her. “You can’t even see a damn thing in front of your face. They got the guns and we can’t do anything about it and you need help. You can’t go on like this.” Beau said.

“Damn it.” E cursed as her gaze was unfocused and she glared at nothing.

Beau turned to the Major. “We’re ready to turn ourselves in to answer for whatever crimes you said we committed and face the punishments. Just please get us the hell out of here.” He said.
