Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 5

Early dawn the early morning….

Beau checked his two Glocks. He had only four rounds in each pistol.

Rider sat on the floor while eating a microwaved ham and egg sandwich. He stared at Beau’s hands. “Your hands are glowing.”

Beau grunted dismissively at the comment. He had noticed it but again didn’t care to comment on it.

“It means something. Your body is reacting to your thoughts. You might be able to use your powers on the guns.” Rider said.

Beau shook his head. “We need bullets more then unreliable powers. You’ve barely gotten your powers up to full support and we still have a guest coming by any time soon.” He said.

Rider shrugged. “My powers might be unreliable but yours were pretty reliable. You have some type of connection to weapons and metals. You can use that to improve our situation or at least maybe the poor condition of the guns in your hands. You just have to push and think of what you need and then maybe-“

Beau held one of the pistols in his hand it broke apart spun around in circles, loose metals and other materials into the spinning pieces then reformed into a new blue steal pistol. The new firearm pistol looked like a cross between a 1911 with a long nose that was completed with a tiny lazer pointer.. He released the magazine out and looked inside. It was full ten glowing bullets.

“Well damn. You learn how to do things fast.” Rider said.

Beau nodded and sent the other glock floating over to Rider’s free hand. Rider smiled and he checked the magazine. It was full with the same glowing bullets.

Rider started to speak but Beau held a finger to his lips. Rider listened. He didn’t hear anything but there was a stillness around them and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up on end. He quietly snapped the glock magazine in place. He lay back on the floor of the store.

They waited listening and waiting. The tension built as it got darker in the abandoned store. All light from lamps grew dimmer and the fading light of day from the sun cracking through the broke door way window.

Beau snored lightly as he felt the thing coming closer. It went first toward Rider. He still couldn’t see it but he heard it’s foot steps. He drew his glock out and aimed it high. A lazer beam focused on the body of the thing glowed revealing the thing. It was huge monster with the hairy body circular body of spider mutant before he fired on it.

The monster screamed a hellish sound. Rider unloaded his rounds and lightning on the creature.

The creator locked a hold of something around Rider’s neck. Beau was up and reached for the bullets with his power inside the creator and started pulling and shooting them like bees inside it’s body continuously.

Black blood was painted around them as the creature screamed and released Rider and turned to run. Beau followed it using metals and firing bullets to create a storm of bullets around it. He fell to the ground his metal legs broke down but he continued his attack until Rider came up punched a hole through the thing with blue lightning and light.

The darkness lifted and the giant female mutant spider lay on the ground in pool of it’s own blood.

Beau stared at it. “Shit.” He said before he emptied his stomach of his last meal on the ground.

Rider nodded. “Fucking hell bitch. Yeah. You should count yourself lucky you didn’t fucked over by this bitch’s mutation.” He said and looked at him and grimaced. “Can you walk?”

Beau shook his head. “I’m out for twenty-four hours. I think until I can make a new pair. Shit! I’m hungry.” He said.

Rider gritted his teeth. “We don’t have the time. We don’t get this shit done I’m out of two men.” He said.

Beau shook his head. “Alright. If you can carry me to the place. The best I can do is give you back up with the rifle. You’ll have to do the rest.” He said.

Rider stared at him. “No matter what. I’m going to help you find and get your girl back. No matter how long it takes or I die trying. You got my word on it.” He said.

Beau believed but he smiled. “Whatever Mr. Hero. Pick my metal ass up and let’s get this shit done.” He said.

Rider lifted Beau up on his shoulders into a fireman carry and bent down to take the rifle case in his other hand and started off leaving the dead mutant to burn.” He said.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 4

Beau’s world fell away into complete darkness and then he felt something with a strong hand on him pulling him somewhere from the darkness. He couldn’t understand what the hell was happening and then realized something important. He wasn’t dead. He was having an extremely violent nightmare.

“Open your eyes, Mr. Lucas!” A girl’s voice said.

Beau opened his eyes as he stared at beautiful young girl with tan blue skin deep black hair that flowed down her shoulders like silk. She was Asian American. He had been watching. Her glasses were off but here eyes closed tightly now. She was crying.

“I’m sorry. I won’t take off my glasses again I promise. I didn’t mean to hurt you.” The girl said with pleading in her voice and a hint of child like fear.

Beau realized she had made him have the strange dream. He also realized it hadn’t been her intentions. She didn’t have control over her powers.

Beau frowned at her shaking his head and picked up her glasses putting them back on her face. “I just had a bad dream Angel. You didn’t do anything wrong.” He said.

Angel shook her head. “I took my glasses off. Doctor E warned me not to do. I won’t do it again. Was it a death dream?” She said.

Beau flinched back and stared at her. “Yes. Honey it was just a dream. We’re all going through major life changes right but we’ll pull through. It’ll be alright.” He said lying to her knowing nothing was going to be the same after today.” He said.

Angel sighed. “You have to remember your dream. Doctor E said there patterns. She says you can break a pattern. But, it depends on the timing.. Promise me you’ll remember to break the pattern. Please.” She said.

Beau had no idea what she was saying. But, he knew had to calm her down. “I promise. Now lay back and rest your head some.” He said.

“Can you tell me about your family. Your family back home? What’s Texas like? I always wanted to go there. My grandpa is from Texas.” She said smiling at the thought.

Beau laughed and then was surprised at the sound. “Texas. It’s a big place with a mixed bag of friendly cultures all mingling together. There is no place on earth like it. Trust I been around a bit and seen somethings. My family isn’t that big to most. I got three younger brothers and two little sisters. My mom and Dad are the best. They raised us to be good people. Fun loving people. I was planning on seeing in a few days. That plan kind ah went to shit. I mean hell.” He said.

Angel giggled. “I don’t mind if you curse. My Daddy likes to it do it a lot when he watches Football.” She said.

Beau laughed. “Angel. How old are you?” He said.

“I’m fifteen. I know I look pretty mature for my age.” Angel said.

Beau snorted in laughter. “Aw. Yeah. Your pretty mature and funny. Where are you from Angel? Here or some place else?” He said.

Angel smiled. “I’m from Orlando, Florida. The sunny state of the world.” She said and then frowned. “Will I ever get to see my house again?” She said.

Beau couldn’t lie. “I don’t know but you got your family here with you and home. Well home is where ever your family is sweaty.” He said.

“Are you a soldier?” Angel asked suddenly.

“Well yeah. Special forces. I’d your Dad a soldier too?” He said.

Angel shook her head. “My Grandpa was in the marines. He retired recently. We came here to see him and vacation. He…he died.”

“I’m sorry.” Beau said.

Angel’s lips trembled. “I saw it happen. It was a heart attack. I-I didn’t know what to do. I thought-“

“It wasn’t your fault.” Beau said. “No matter what happened. I know your grandfather wouldn’t want you worrying about whether it was your fault or not. You got to remember that.”

Angel started crying silently. But she nodded. “Thank you, Beau.”

Rider arrived at the hospital early in the morning but he wasn’t alone and he had on a military vest and pants. He had a rifle case with him.

Beau had been dozing half through the night as he watched a young girl and make sure she didn’t remove the sunglasses on her face.

Rider met with Doctor E explained somethings to her in a low tone. She waved Beau forward. Beau got to his feet feeling the pain spike through him but fought through it.

He walked toward them. Rider’s gaze locked with his. “You good with a rifle. I need back up.”

“You find my girl?” Beau asked.

“I don’t know yet. If you can’t handle your emotions then you can stay. I can’t afford to mess up the mission. Can you keep your shit together for a few hours? I got two men who are willing to go with us we just need to take out two big sum-a-bitches that killed their daughters.”

Beau stared at him. “I’m not murdering two random assholes. How the hell do you know-” He said but the direct stare at Rider gave him made him pause.

“I saw it happen.” Rider said. “The assholes snapped their necks before I could do anything and then I had to get them out before assholes mowed us down with bullets. I spent the last few hours tracking them down after I helped the fathers bury their kids. I can’t take them out on my own. I need a shooter.”

“Damn.” Beau said turning to look at Angel who was asleep in her bed and then looked back at Rider. “I feel bad for the fathers but-” He said.

“There’s a strong likelihood your girl is held up with the other woman by the big gang in the city. If you want to get her back. We need men willing to go with us and take them out and get the women and children free.” Rider said all business.

Beau started and stared at him. “Wait a minute. You said they were only holding women.” He said.

Rider shook his head. “I was wrong. The gang isn’t particular about their ages. Are you with me or not. I need an answer right now.” He said.

Beau held out his hand. “Give me the case.” He said.

Rider nodded and handed Beau the case. “It’s good for two rounds. That’s it.. Let’s head out.” He said and turned walking away.

Beau followed him.

“Beau!” Angel called after him.

Beau turned back and looked at her. She looked pale and stared at him.

“Remember the dream. You can break the pattern. You promised.” Angel said in a whispering voice.

Beau felt a chill go down his spine and looked down at the rifle case in his hand. It was the same case like in the dream. He looked up Angel. She was staring at him. Her lips shaking.

“I’ll remember.” Beau said.

“Beau. Stop fucking around. We have to go.” Rider said in annoyed voice.

Beau started and turned to go following after Rider quickly.

Forty minutes later, Rider and Beau were walking down a block of stores. Beau caught his image in one of the windows. He stared a few seconds.

“Stop fucking around. We have to move. It’s getting late. We have to get to the store before long.”

Beau started looking around he caught one of the blue ape men watching them. He started out toward them. It was a signal to the others to begin the attack.

“We got trouble.” Beau said dropping the case.

Rider turned and started up his power. His power flickered and went out. Beau felt his face shield flick over his face. He reached out his hands and pulled two glocks into his hands. Beau took aim at an ape man charging at him and put a bullet in his head.

The others screamed and ran off. Rider blinked looking at him in surprise. “That’s a neat trick.” He said.

Beau nodded. He knew it wasn’t over though. Someone else was out there watching them. He didn’t know what it was but he was going to be ready for it tonight. He turned to Rider. “We won’t make it to the target store it’s to late. We better find a place to hide out for the night.” He said giving Rider a signal they were being watched.

Rider nodded catching the signal Beau gave him. “Yeah. Good idea. I’m kind of tired.” He said.

Beau picked up the rifle carrying case and took a hold of Rider around his back.

“Who the fuck is watching us?” Rider whispered to him.

Beau shook his head. “Don’t know. They’ll be tracking us though. We’ll have to be ready tonight. You need to get some food and as much rest as you can.” He said. “They’ll be coming for us tonight.” He said.

“How?” Rider whispered.

Beau shook his head. “I’ll tell you later.” He said.

Blue Technomancer CHAPTER 1

Beau’s legs hurt but he was happy to have them and be able to walk in spite of the pain. Oh yeah. There was a sum bitch lot of pain.

The city looked like it had gone through a time warp several decades into a post apocalypse era.

“What the fuck happened?” Beau asked to no.

“Near as I can tell from running around as much as I have for the last few hours some fucking alien appeared over the city and then fell down on top of us. Buildings were flattened.. people died. People set on fire and building burned down in minutes. We’re cut off from the rest of the world by the government. No one in or out for twenty-four hours.” Rider said. “Might be longer but the bitch caused a change in a few of us turning us or killing us out right from the gas and energy it gave out into the atmosphere.” Rider said.

“The atmosphere. Are you saying-” Beau said in and then paused as the truth hit him.

“Yeah.” Rider said. “The city may be cut off but the energy and gas spread outward fast. It’s gone pandemic. We’re all fucked in different ways.”

Beau shook his head. “My Jackie wasn’t effected. She was still normal when I last saw her.” He said.

“Beau.” Rider said and turned to him. “There is no normal. Some of us are different outwardly everybody else breathed in the same fucking shit that dead alien put out into the fucking air. Every person in the city have the most extreme cases because we’re still breathing in the major impact.” He said

Beau shook his head. “How long until they let us out?” He said.

Rider shrugged. “They say around Monday. They’re waiting us out.” He said.

Beau stared at him. “What the fuck do you mean waiting, us out?” He said.

Rider smiled. “Starvation or for the idiots with the worst hit to kill each other off. It’s understandable from what I’ve seen so far. Let’s go.” He said.

Beau frowned at him but he followed. “Where are we heading?” He said.

“I’ve been hearing whispers of some new gang that’s taken a bunch of pretty females, resources and weapons. They are holed up down town in the main square. You’re going to help me break em out.” He said.

“For what reason?” Beau asked

“Stopping assholes from raping women to death is a good enough reason for me. If we don’t find your girl on the way there then there might be a possibility she could be there. I thought you would more inclined to talk less and get the fuck on.” Rider said.

Beau shook his head Rider but followed. “I don’t get you. Do you really think your a some type comic book hero or something?” He said.

Rider shook his head at him. “I told you why I’m doing this, Beau. I don’t have much time left so I’ll do what I want with my life and live it how I choose. It’s my bucket list.” Rider said.

“How do you know your dying?” Beau asked.

Rider was quiet a few minutes. “A doctor that was changed checked me out. She gave me a few days or year at best on her first look at me. She gave me some tips on how to use my powers and hints about my limits.. Besides that I’m in consent pain every moment with a bit of release when I run out of power and can think beyond the pain. Just like your pain right now trying to maintain your legs.” He said.

Beau was quiet for a few minutes. He thought about Rider’s words. Maybe, just maybe. He began to give himself a little hope that he had a chance for fixing whatever the hell had happened to him. If he could live long enough there could be a solution that had happened to him.

“I want to see this Doctor. I want to get checked out.” Beau said.

Rider sighed. “It’s a waste of…shit. We got trouble.” He said charging his hands with lightning and firing off power a group of humans running at them with shovels and knives.

He took down a few of them but the others kept coming and started firing guns at them. They took off running away as the group pursued them for a few blocks but then gave up as both men out raced them.

Blue Technomancer Prologue

Beau Lucas never had been a man to give much thought about an after life or hell though he had been known to wish a couple of sum-a-bitches there from time to time in his life and profession. Now as he lay speared through the chest by a blue metal spear and covered in dirt, blood, a strange blue liquid flowing out of him he thought otherwise. This was his hell. Every time he opened his eyes regained his sanity for moment he woke up to the sorry state of his existence.

Pain.

Misery.

Loneliness.

He never felt any of that shit in his life time but now here in a cave of burning blue hell fire and rubble around him. He felt it. What the hell had he done so bad for the almighty to put him here.

Just two hours previously before his death when the meteor or whatever thing struck the building breaking through into the expansive restaurant he had brought his girl to propose to her. His mind went back to that time. When life had been normal. Things went the expected way for him which was right on the money good. Jackie knew he was going to propose the moment he reached for the box in his suit jacket. The whole setup was just for show and romance. It was the dream proposal she had wanted and Beau had always been ready to give her whatever she wanted. Things were supposed to go how they usually did with them perfect. Things changed quick in an instant.

One moment he was on his knee the next moment he was on the ground speared through the back. He begged her to go and wondered why in the hell he was still alive. He couldn’t feel anything below his chest and spear and got him clean through his spine.

She finally ran leaving him to die alone. He thought of the years he spent growing up with her back in Texas. He thought about his home town of Fort Worth. He thought of his family that would be morning his death now.

“It’s not fair. Why am I in hell?” Beau spoke the question to himself aloud.

“This ain’t hell and you’re not dead.” A man answered for him.

Beau lifted his head and gaze to look at a man bare chested glowing with electricity and a blue fire bend down on one knee and staring at him. He shook his head. “I look fucked up I know. But, I’m in the same boat as you are soldier.” He said with no humor or pity in his voice.

Beau stared at him. “What happened?” He said.

The man shrugged. “Near as I can tell some damn alien fell on the city killing over a hundred people and changing the rest of us. I lost my brother and wife. I’m helping who I can until whatever that bitch demon did to me kills me eventually.” He said.

I laughed at him. “What? You got a hero complex or something? We’re all fucked with what your saying is true. What’s the use?”

He shrugged again unmoved by my words. “I promised my brother I would help the ones living if I can and I’m not the only one helping. There’s a lot of orphans out there now. You want to stay here and die of self-pity I don’t care but we could use some help. What do you do?” He said.

“Nothing. I am nothing now and I can’t do anything. Go away. I would rather die then live through what has happened to me.” Beau said.

He reached for spear and yanked it out of Beau’s back. “Get up.”

Beau stared at him. “Fuck you asshole. I can’t even feel my legs.” He said.

“I said get up soldier. There’s a war still going on and I need men to help me. Get up.” The man said.

“Fuck you.” Beau said.

The man stared at him. “Coward.”

Beau felt rage spark him to push himself to his feet. Pain shot through his body but he used his training to block it out and push himself up and to stand. He swung his fist and punched the other man’s mouth making him bleed blue blood.

The man smiled. “I saw you making new legs as I walked in with the metal and pieces of the spear. The pain will lessen enough for you to use your powers. Your going to help me save as much of them as I can.”

“I ain’t helping you do shit.” Beau snarled.

“Yes you will. We’re soldiers. It’s what we do. Besides that. We’re on a short time table before whatever the alien did to us kills us. It’s better to do something useful then to sit around being useless while other people that can live die needlessly from the damage done or by some asshole trying to take advantage of the situation. Let’s go.” The man said in a tone and voice of authority.

Beau frowned wondering at his words then thought of Jackie and the kind of break down situation this brought out to the monsters that had to hide.. If she was alive during this then day of hell then…fuck it. He needed to find her before some asshole killed or raped her. He had to find her.

“Let’s go Soldier.” The man said.

“Hey. Who the hell are you?” Beau asked.

“You can call me Rider. What’s yours?” Rider said.

“Beau. Beau Lucas.” He said.

Dago’s Run Episode 0

It was a small crowd of personal relations come to the Potter ranch in memory of the beloved friend, son and father. Emily Potter sat with her mother Mara Potter outside as they gathered together to burn a candle in a special bondfire for James. A seat was set beside her that was empty. It was for her brother but he did not bother to show up because he was busy working in the library working.

James’ staff and peacemaker were set in front of the fire as Neville Longbottom set the flame. The items had arrived suddenly on their ranch two days ago. The last hope they had of seeing James again was lost.

Mara Potter didn’t cry or look sad. She sat quietly angry. Emily was with her to help through the situation and do anything to dangerous.

Ava Potter along with Angus were missing as well for their own reasons. Unknown to anyone but maybe for Neville.

Neville was dressed like everyone their on black robes. He cleared his throat. “James Potter. He was noble friend and loyal companion. He will be missed and his memory never forgotten.” He said and went silent.

It was hard for him along with everyone. Mara nodded. “That’s good. Everyone can go now.” She said before disappearing.

Emily got up. Neville nodded to her. “Go. I’ll handle it.” He said.

Emily went into a apparition and was in the library in Hawks Landing. Mara was standing next to Silver who was standing with his hand to her writing on the board. Emily sighed and walked over.

“What are you working on?” She asked.

Silver turned looking at her. “One of Dad’s problems he was trying to figure out.” He said.

“Magical signature.” She said in surprise.

Silver nodded. “I had a brake through this morning when I woke. I was able to see and feel the magical signature on Dad’s staff. If I can-” He said but stopped when Mara yelled.

He stared at her. Mara glared back at him. “You are not going to use that to hunt down your father’s killers.” She said.

“Dad isn’t dead and dad told us him going missing like this could happen. If and when it did. He told us not to come hunting for him. Magical signature has more usefulness beyond hunting criminals.” He said.

Emily knew he was lying and so did Mara. She stared at James.

“Your grandparents have a much better chance to get your father’s killers.Your father did not want either you or your sister to hunt down anyone that could get to him. Promise me you will not hunt after your father’s killers or I will be locked out of thr library and any resources here.” She said.

Silver stared at her. “You Don’t have the power to do that.”

“I do. I’m still stronger then you and I will have your father’s friends keep you our if you don’t promise me here and now then I will sure you how powerful I am. Sware it to me now.” Mara said speaking a spell as she stared at him.

Emily froze and knew their mother had steppes over the line. Silver stared at her. “I promise you that I will have no personal involvement or will pursue hunting down the people that took my father.” He said.

The spell was cast. Emily looked as Silver rolled up his sleeve a mark was on his skin. He looked up at Mara. She stared at him.

Silver studied her. “The pack is done. If I break it I’m assuming I will lose my ability to work in the library.” He said.

Mara nodded looking pale. “Yes and your magical ability. Keep your word and I won’t ask anything more of you.” She said.

Silver nodded studying her. “That is correct mother. You will have no say or opinion about my life or my choices from now on.” He said.

Mara nodded. “I agree. Will you come to dinner now?” She said.

Silver stared at her. “From now on I think it would best that you don’t come here when I am working. This is my place of work. I will be moving into the tower of the magi today. If your done please leave so I can finish the project my father left undone.” He said.

Mara sighed. “I can stay here and asist you like I did your father.” She said.

Silver shook his head. “You are upset about what happened to my dad. If you stay here you’ll only upset yourself and we would get into another argument. This is my place of work. I have a job to do and I would appreciate it if you respected that. When you want to work again please give me notice of the times you would like to work and I’ll change my schedule so we don’t but heads.” He said in cold emotionless voice.

Mara closed her eyes and took several breathes in and out before she opened her eyes. “Will you come to dinner? We won’t discuss anything regarding your work or life. I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings but this is for your own good.” She said.

Silver stared at her calmly. “I will be down to pack up my stuff and we can have dinner. This is not about feelings. You did what you did. I accept it. I made you a promise and I will keep my word. I am an adult. However, I will not tolerate your disrespect in my work place. This is my world. In respect for my father. I am asking you to leave. I have work to do. The work that my father expected me to do whether he’s dead or alive. It’s the work that will help people and make the world better. You are interrupting my work for the sake of your selfish feelings.”

Mara was pale but she nodded her head with tears in her eyes and blinked them away. “Your right. Your right. I won’t come up here again.” She said and disappeared.

Emily was left with her brother. He looked at her. She held up her hands. “I’m not here to give you any shit.” She said.

He stared her. “I’m trying to finish Dad’s last project. I didn’t come to that funeral because we don’t have a body to bury and thinking about him being possibly dead is driving me crazy. I don’t want to talk about my feelings. I want to work.”

I let my hands fall down. “Show me what you’re working on. What’s the idea you had for using it besides finding dad.” She said trying to lift the mood lighter the last line but his closed off expression showed she had said the wrong thing.

“I promised mother I wouldn’t do that and I have to keep that promise or I’ll lose my magic and working in the one place that reminds me of dad the most.” He said showing her the cursed promise mark.

Emily stared at him. Silver stared at her. “You need to leave.” He said in a tired voice.

Emily flinched back. “I can help you. I worked with dad on the project I can help you.” She said.

Silver shook his head. “No you can’t. You won’t be able to focus. I have to finish this project. I got a lot of work I’ve been lagging behind on but once I’m done with this I can focus on my other work but I can’t do it with you here. I need to focus. You’ll only distract me. Please leave.” He said softly and turned back to his white board picking up his wand and started writing.

Emily stared at his stiff back and saw he was serious. “We’ll talk later.” She said left him alone.

James sighed and kept working. “I know your there. Do you think I’m crazy.” I asked.

A being in form of a beautiful lady appeared behind him and approuched him from behind. She hugged his neck.

“I think you are doing with his Majesty’s departure from our home.” She said.

“That’s not answering my question Lady H.” He said. “I still believe he’s alive. I don’t have any proof of it but I still believe. He’s survived so much and so many battles he has to be alive.”

“So you do have doubts. I know. Your mother was right in one regard. His Majesty didn’t want you to have a warrior’s life. He wanted you to have a happy life and enjoy making things that are helpful. He did warn us that that our enemies could come for him at time.” She said.

“I know. I just. I just want to know if he’s dead or not. But, I probably will never know now. So all I have now is to finish the last project Dad couldn’t finish. He was so happy I graduated and wanted to work with him on it. We were going to work together. That was my dream.” He said.

“He’s still here. This is his favorite place in the world.” Lady H said. “Focus on your work and leave the question of his Majesty to your grandfather to find out.”

James nodded as Lady H disappeared. “That’s what I’ll do. I’ll finish the work.” He said.

November’s kiss stories: The Job End?!

I stared into the mirror of the gas station bathroom at the image of the ignma on my left forearm. I held the burner blade up heated and charged up as I prepared to finally burn the damn thing off finally. It cost me a lot trouble and loss of friends and family. I had no one now because of it. I was a roin.

They called my kind ignma. A destination for a type of human that isn’t born with elemental powers like most everyone else in this world. I was born different. I saw things differently but mostly importantly. I grew up knowing I would have to make my own in the world. I wasn’t born to be ordinary. I was special. I didn’t have magic powers to fall back on.

I heard a knock at the door. “Hey. I got to take a shit. Hurry up in there.” A male voice called to me.

I sighed and shipped the blade in the protective sleeve and quickly put on my black shirt and jacket. I opened the door and evaded the man as I walked past him.

I looked at the cashier at the front. He gave me a look and nodded out side. “You got five minutes kid.” He said.

I nodded to him and walked toward the door. I walked over to a bike parked at filling station.

I saw Victor Adam in his ride chating with a model while his bodyguard a big solo agent with bands of fire element that wrapped around his arms as a show of his power and status as a highly powerful elemental. He looked up at me once.

“You looking to make trouble youngster. Think again.” He said sensing trouble from me but not sensing the real danger.

I leaned against the motorcycle like it was mean. “How did you become Solo?” I asked him.

The man stared at me. “You a runner.” He said.

I nodded. “Been a runner part time sense I was twelve. I’m sixteen now. I’ll be seventeen soon. My Pop sent me on the rite early. Is there anyway I can skip past becoming a Solo to be a fixer.” I asked.

“Your powerless.” He said and grinned shaking head at me. “You been working sense your twelve and haven’t advanced yet. You’ll never make it. Head to the out lands.” He said.

“So I have to become a Solo first. Alright. If that’s what I have to do. I’ll do it. I just don’t understand why the order of things can’t be changed.” I said.

The Solo frowned at me. “Your father never explained to you the ranking up of trust and talent?” He asked.

I frowned at him. “The ranking of Trust and talent? What is that? Is that the core to the underground system?” I asked.

“Yes. It’s about trust and talent. Runners are trusted with small jobs because they have little talent and haven’t built up their ranking of trust. Solo’s have built higher skill levels and power to do bigger jobs and get bigger pay. Fixers were trusted with connecting clients to underground agents or figuring out how to plan out a job to get it done in the first place. Though fixers aren’t needed now a days when we have the black market forum to get jobs. No need for a middle man and you don’t have any power so your stuck. I would advise you to the out lands be field hand or slave. Powerless have no room for advancing anywhere in society. Sorry.” He said.

“Thank you the information. You can keep your opinion about me to yourself or shove up your ass for all I care though.” I said.

The Solo blinked at me. “Oh really?!” He said in a dominant tone meant to make me back down but I nodded staring at him in the eyes.

“Yeah. I’m smarter, better and will be more richer then you’ll ever be. Before your hair turns grey Mr. Solo. You’ll be answering to me with the respect due a free king. You can believe that shit.” I said.

He laughed in my face but he froze and pointed a glowing hand of fire at me as I reached inside my jacket. “Don’t try me powerless.” He said.

I looked at him. “Was the information free?” I asked.

“You want to pay me for information I gave you?!” He said in confusion.

I nodded. “Yeah. The last thing I want is for you to think I owe you something when I take over the underground. What’s your account transfer number?” I said.

A slow wofish smile curved around his lips and he shook his head. “I forgot my manners. My account number is 3988b20 ebs. 20 ebs will do fine. Youngster.” He said.

I took out my detapad and looked down and started the transfer as Victor got out of his vehicle.

“What the fuck is the hold up?” Stop talking to this trash, pump my gas and so I get the fuck on to my place. I got Mindy for a few hours until I have to return her to the agency.” Victor said.

“The Transfer is done. Check your account.” I said looking and ignored Victor.

“Hey shit head.” Victor said.

The Solo nodded his head. “You good young blood. Better luck next time young blood. I know why came here. You’ll have to find another job.” He said.

I nodded. “Thanks for the information elder. Oh you better get your money from Mr. Adams quickly because his crediters are coming for his ass in twelve hours from now to take all his shit.” I said and walked away.

Victor laughed nervously but the Solo stared at me. “Oh. I see what this is. Your a runner looking to steal my ride. You little shit. Your dirty lies aren’t going to work on grown adults.” He said. His eyes glowed with elemental green energy of the earth dragon.

I shook my head. “Not really. I checked you out credit history and networth online Mr. Adams. Your a broke ass son of bitch that is in deep debt to loan sharks and running around town banging old models on cheap credit. I wanted to talk to your Solo bodyguard because he had information I needed. This was the only way I could get the attention of a vetern Solo to talk to me long enough to get information. Oh. Respectfully you should take down that job offer. It’s against black market forum rules to put up false job ads. You don’t have any ebs to pay anybody anything. You pay everything down with cheap low grade credit with no show of collateral but your failing family group business and the old classic piece of shit cruiser you own. Your better off selling your ride then trying to get somebody to destory it for the insurance money. Later asshole!” I said showing him my tongue and flipping him off with both fingers as I backed away.

“Mr. Adams. You owe us twenty-five hundred ebs.” A man said.

“Mr. Adams. We need you to sign over your cruiser to my company to pay your debt.” A man said.

Suddenly, men started converge on them. The model was taken out of the car. Victor looked at me. “You set me up!” He said.

I grinned at him. “They paid me more then we’re offering.” I said.

Victor attempted to attack me but the Solo grabbed him and jerked him back. “You’ve been light on my last two checks. I want my money now or I’ll destoy your ride and take the insurance money as payment. Give me my money you little shit.” He said.

The cashier stood outside smoking and nodded to me. “The money is in your account. Did you burn the mark?” He said.

I sighed.

He stared at me. “A deal is a deal. You gave your word. We pay and do what was agreed upon or you and word are worthless and we’ll make sure of that you’ll get work from anyone in this city.” He said.

I smiled and took off my jacket throwing it to the ground and then took off the knife and hit the button on the center. the electrified blade heated up instantly. I placed the blade on my skin where the mark was and pressed into my skin. I smelled burning skin for a few second until I finally dropped it.

The cashier threw my bottle of some type of liquid and I put it on my skin. The wound. A ugly scar was in place. I placed the bottle down and got out my detapad.

“You did the right thing kid. Your already a target being without any elemental powers no use in having a silly mark to make matters worse. You’ll receive a link to your job digital check in station. The company will do right by you if you be a good boy and do what your told. Oh you pay grade will have to go down to 50k. Sorry but your not worth the 80k ebs because of your ignma status.” He said.

I searched the forum until I found what I was looking for. “Your James Martin. Vice president of Credit industries? Aren’t you?” I said looking up at him.

He stared at me. “How the fuck did you know my name?” He asked me coldly.

I looked up at him smiling. “Do you know a Miss Hellen Baker?” I said.

James didn’t return my smile. I nodded. “Yeah. Miss Baker and her tribe came into some money the last time you two were together. She never forgot you or that night you showed your ass and went to far with her. Her family has got a big fat bounty on your head old man. It’s far bigger then 80k. I didn’t just contact you and your corporation for Mr. Adams. I was hoping that your old man would seen you in to to over see matters seeing how much he hated Mr. Adams. It’s funny how things work out isn’t it.” I said putting away my detapad.

James suddenly threw his cigarette into my face surprising me and drew a pistol from under his vest jacket. I lifted up my hand as he shot it. I felt the jolt from the shock waves at it hit my cyberpunk arm taking on two shots before I knocked him back drew my blaster and fired on his ass taking him down with two shots to the chest and sending him flying through the glass of the door. James lay on the floor of the convivence store bleeding and motionless. My ears were ringing. Someone took my pistol from my hand and put me down to the ground.

“Check my detapad. I’m a runner. He had a bounty on his head. I took the job.” I said. I couldn’t hear shit but someone grabbed my detapad and from me and then a second later I was let up to sit on the ground. The Solo smiled at me shaking his head. He showed me my profile on the black market forum. I looked at it and looked at my ranking.

Well that was a start. Not where I was going to finish but it was a start to something.

James Potter and The Court of Owls Chapter 10

James and Angus had been walking on the road in silence for half an hour. James looked at Angus who seem perfectly at ease.

“Dad. Did you just pick this road for us to have a moment of privacy to talk a bit before we move on to the next location?”

Angus held up two fingers. I nodded. “Not really. There was supposed to be a location out here for us. It’s gone now. So I used this opportunity for me to answer your questions as best as I can. We’ll be moving on to the next location. I’m just waiting a bit trying to get my baring and-”

Angus turned pushing James behind as he drew his peacemaker and fired. An explosion of a fire storm shot out of the noose of his weapon as another blast of dangerous magical energy came racing toward them. Both spells met clashing. Angus stood his ground as the ground shook with the clash of masters contended in a duel for supremacy over the other.

Angus snarled as blood came from his nose. “Damn it.” He said as he started being pushed back and the spell came closer toward them.

James shook head. “Dad.”

Angus shook his head. “I got it.” He said and lifted his other hand that was glowing gold. He pointed two toward his enemy and a circle of light surrounded him.

James stared at him wide eyed. “Holy shit!”

Angus smiled. “Damn straight.” He spoke in an echoing voice before golden flames came out of his weapon punching against the dark magical energy. The golden flames quickly overpowered the dark power. A second later there was a loud scream and the battle was over.

James stared wide eyes at Angus. Angus turned to him holstering his weapon. There was still an afterglow of golden energy around his body as he smiled at James. “That was scary. I’m a bit of energy for the moment we’ll have to walk over toward that jackass that tried to sneak up on us. We maybe able to get something off him that will help us.” He said turning and started walking back down the road.

James was frozen for a few a seconds until his father looked back. He started following after him just then. Down the road they could see a body on the ground dressed in dark robes.

“What the hell was that spell he used?” James asked.

“Avada Kedavra.” Angus said frowning. “He was pretty strong one too by the amount of energy he put into it. Still he was a bit slow on the draw. If he had been faster he would have caught us in the back.”

James shook his head. “How did you know? How? I didn’t even hear him speak it.”

Angus shrugged his shoulders taking out another sandwich from the bag. “Nether did I son. I just felt the spell go off.”
James flinched. “You felt the spell go off?”

Angus nodded chewing on his sandwich. “Yep. It’s something I picked up in part from being unlucky enough to get myself into some dumb situations like this over time so I had to pick up a means of being alert when a spell like that goes off into this realm of existence.”
James frowned at him. “Did you learn it from your master in The Wuixa?

“Yes. Master Chen had interesting way of instructing me toward listening for shift when magic is activated.” Angus said with a grin. “It was not easy learning it.”
James shook his head at Angus. “I don’t understand what I just saw. I thought your weapon just shot fireballs or bullets and then I see you firing off a type Fiendfyre spell and then it changes to golden flames. How?!”

Angus shook his head. “I wasn’t using a spell. It was pure wuixa flame element. It’s the element I can work best through the peacemaker. however lightning element would have worked better just as well.”

James frowned and started to say something but Angus drew out his peacemaker. He followed Angus’ lead pulling out his wand and looking around for danger as they slowly approached the body of the wizard on the ground.

“Why did he attack us like that?” James whispered.

Angus shook his head. “He was probably put here to watch for us and he’s dark wizard. Killing people is what they do best. There are no rules in battle. Be watchful but relax a bit so you can be quick to draw on attacker.” He said as they quickly neared the body on the ground.

“Yes, Sir.”

Angus had the peacemaker aimed at the body frowning at it. He noticed the wand was still in hand of the wizard on the ground. “Your in a lot a pain. I expect. I could relieve you of that pain right quick if you want.”

There was no response. James frowned but kept his eyes darting around. He didn’t know what Angus was about but he kept to his assignment.

“Listen. I don’t fault you for sneaking up on my back door to put me down. It’s the name of the game but you tried to kill my son and good buddy over here. I’m willing to let you go though if you tell me who stole the stone from The Count. I don’t want it personally. This is just a job to me.”
No response.

“I know. I know. Your thinking I’m talking out of my ass but I’m being real with you Mr. Killer. I just want to finish this job and get back to my business and spending time with my son. You’re probably feeling sore about loosing to an American Magi but it is what it is. No fault on your end. I been around. I learned some stuff from the Wuixa.”

The wizard opened his eyes staring up at Angus. “The Wuixa do not welcome outsiders of the West into their sect with your power and name. How did you learn holy light?”

Angus smiled. “My Master Chen taught me. He took a liking to me because I made him laugh and I am a very patient man.”

“Damn you.” The wizard cursed Angus. “Damn you and your entire mudblood family legacy. Your are a disgrace to the pure bloods and magical world.”

“Tell me where your master is and where I can find him or I’ll destroy your wand and leave you here for wild animals or the next passing dark wizards to play with. I’m not leaving without the information. We can do this kindly or I can squeeze the information out of you. I’ll do it. Don’t push me. But besides all that. I won. You lost. It is what it is. You know the rules of the game” Angus said cold.

“Your a liar. You have defeated me. My wand is yours.” He said.

“I don’t want your wand. I don’t need it. In fact I want you to keep. You can work out. Build your muscles and maybe one day you’ll be strong enough to attack me from behind again and or catch me with my pants down on toilet. Then you can pat yourself on back for much of a strong brave pure blood you are.” Angus said and then snorted in to laughter.

James flinched shaking his head. He said nothing but kept his eyes on watch for danger.

“Damn you, Dragon of the West. Damn you to hell. He said I’d never be able to beat you but I had to try. His name is Hector Wells. You can find him in the East Coast City of the Capital of the congress. Now leave me to my failure and disgrace.”

“James. Grab hold.” Angus said holding out his hand he kept his gaze on his target and peacemaker leveled on the wizard on the ground.

James pocketed his wand and grabbed a hold on Angus’ arm.

James Potter and The Court of Owls Chapter 5

Angus had finished up repairs for the day on the front of the house and then he headed to his workshop at the back of the house. James had made himself and his father two beef sandwiches and two bottles of butter beer and carried them out to Angus on a large platter.

Angus’s workshop used to be a barn he had later converted into armor and workshop to build his weapons. The large doors were open as Angus stood by his work desk cleaning his weapon. Angus had on a leather apron and a genuine smile on his face as he saw his son.
“Hello. Sandwiches on your birthday for your old man. You must have something big to ask me.” He said with a grin. He took one of the sandwiches when James offered it to him and bite into it and nodded his thanks to his son.

“Alright son. What’s on your mind?” Angus said after finishing his sandwich in four bites and opening his bottle of butter beer.
James smiled. “Several things. I got questions though before I ask you.”

Angus shook his head. “Just ask me. It’s the happiest day of my life. So take advantage of the situation.” He said.
James nodded. “Okay. Ah. I want to become as powerful as you are. Can I be your apprentice?” He asked.

Angus put his bottle down and grabbed his son in a tight bear hug and patted his back. “You just made my day even brighter. Of course. Of course. It would be my honor to teach you my craft.” He said and pulled away to grin at his son. “Okay. Give me your questions.”
James stared at his father. “That’s it?”

Angus nodded. “Yeah. That’s it. We’ll get started today and by the time you reach my age you’ll be stronger then your old man when I become a gray beard. Go head ahead ask me your questions. I’m all game for answering you if I can.” He said with a chuckle.
James very much doubted that he would be stronger then his father when Angus advanced to a gray beard in power. Though he was smart enough not to say it. He smiled. “Why did you stop using your wand?”

Angus lost a bit of the light in his eyes at the question but he nodded. “I had a wand at one point when I was a wizard. I’m a magi now and my profession is weapons smith.”
James frowned. “Was? Dad you still are a wizard. I saw you use magic.”

Angus shrugged leaning back against his work desk and crossing his muscled arms across his broad chest. “I’m an American magi now but to answer you question I lost it in a duel. So I had to figure out another way of living. I traveled around spent some time in the wuxia and got a part time job here from an old soldier friend of mean.”

“The Wuxia?” James frowned tapping a finger to his chin. “I know that name from somewhere but I can’t remember. Who are they?“

Angus sighed. “The wizards of the far east as western Wizards call them. Wuixa is their proper name. They taught me a bit of the ancient ways before I came here and my friend helped me buy my ranch and get some employment going to start my weapons repair, trade and customizing business. Anymore questions.”

James pursed his lips. Angus snorted in laughter. “Come on son. Give them to me.”
James grinned. “Okay. Obvious question why didn’t you get a new wand?”

Angus sighed shrugging his shoulders. “Once a wizard loses his wand well you know.” He said shaking his head.
“Buying or winning a new wand isn’t the same. Wand chooses the wizard. So I had to let it go and search for another means of making magical contract of channeling.” He said and then picked up his butter beer to take another drink.

James frowned and studied his father. “What do you mean by magical contract of channeling?”

Angus held out his hand. “Can I see your wand for a bit. I’m not claiming it and this is not a duel.” He said.
James frowned at him but he took out his wand and passed it over to his father. James felt the wand come alive in Angus’ hand.

“Easy now. Calm down. I just want to teach your master a bit of knowledge. I don’t need your kind. The peacemaker chose me.” Angus said.

James stared as he realized Angus was talking to the wand. “Dad.”

Angus held up a finger. “You feel it don’t you. That easy feeling the wand is having just being held in my grasp. Have you ever let any of your girlfriends at school hold your wand?”

I shook my head. “No and I don’t have girlfriends I just have girls I’ve been interested in before. One my friends and professor Longbottom have held my wand before. It never reacted like this. Can I have my wand back?”

Angus handed it back to him with a nod of his head. “That was another issue for why I don’t use wands anymore. A funny thing. Wands know I don’t need them anymore. Anymore questions though.”
James started to shake his head but looked at the hybrid weapon on the work desk. “What is that?”

Angus glanced at his weapon. “Looks like a mogul weapon of war to me. It’s a engineered copy of a non-magical weapon. I call it 1911SC or the peacemaker for short.”

James shook his head. “It’s not just a simple copy of non-magi weaponry is it?” He said and started to reach for weapon as it glowed ruby red but Angus caught his wrist stopping James from touching it. He looked at his father.

Angus shook his head. “Your right. The peacemaker isn’t non-magi at all and neither is it a wizard kind hybrid. Remember the wand chooses the wizard. The reverse is true for this weapon. The magi chooses the peacemaker but it’s a mutual partnership. Do you wish to be a great powerful wizard?”

“Yes. I do. I’ll do whatever it take to achieve my goals. I must become a great wizard.” James said.

Angus smiled and quickly picked up his weapon and holstered it at his side. “Good. I can teach you what I’ve learned and help you become a great wizard.”
James picked up his sandwich and took two large bits from it suddenly feeling very hungry all of a sudden. A question suddenly came to him as Angus grinned at him.

“Are you a wuxia master? What is the far east magical world like?”

Angus’ pursed lips shook with held back laughter. “It is a wonderful place. I am not a master by any means it would take me well over a hundred years before I achieved the level of my former master Zhao Chen. If you do well in your training over next six months then I will take you to see Chen and do a bit of exploring in the hidden temple in the hidden forest. Is there anymore questions you got because I got two questions for you now.”
James had dozens or so questions swimming in his head but he wasn’t in rush now. He was free from school now and he had time to ask his father as many questions as he wanted. “I have dozens more questions but you can ask me your questions.”

Angus nodded. “So ah you got a girl your interested in?”

James chewed on his food a little before speaking. “Ah yeah. I talked my marriage plans over with mom and sense it is important event for the family to decide for myself-”

“So you do have a girl?” Angus said.
James flinched back frowned. “I didn’t say that.”

Angus chuckled. “I heard the sub text in the middle James. I was your age. I knew your mother was the one for me in 2nd year. I never let up until she accepted the fact. Okay you don’t have to tell me who she is yet. No. Don’t lie. I know when your about to lie. Second question what are you going to do for a living?”
James pursed his lips. “I plan to gain power like you and I have political aspirations to become the president.”

Angus nodded. “Continue.”

“I’m going to work for mom in her company in her magical spell engineering in between my training with you and my drive to gain power both politically and martially.”

Angus held up a finger. “Always remember son. Whether you choose to marry your girl or the one your mother chooses it just ain’t going to be a simple thing for you. I understand your reasons for keeping her hidden but eventually you’ll have to tell your mother. Two, I expect you to do your best while working for your mother. Don’t coast by on your ass or what your great great grandfather did. Do your best. Make your own legend. Three, you go for political power you have no friends but your family. One slip up and it’s over. So be sure of what you want. Position means nothing if the power behind the position isn’t yours by right. No one can give you power.”

James nodded. “Mother says you will be the most powerful wizard in the following decades when you come into your full power. Is this true?”

Angus shrugged. “I don’t know what will happen in the future. There are many powerful wizards and magi in the world.”

“Are you one of them?” James pushed.

“Yes.” Angus answered.

“Why aren’t you the president then? Why haven’t you taken control over America?” James asked.

“I don’t need the position. I already have power.” Angus said and stared at his son. “Power is power. No position can grant you that. You to have power first. It cost me a high price to learn what my father and brothers failed to learn. I’m telling you this now so that when someone comes to you and offers you a devil’s bargain for your soul you will know the proper response.”

James Potter and the Court of Owls Chapter 3

James jumped at the sound of someone knocking on front door. He noticed that Angus didn’t move but his focused had locked in the direction of the front entrance.

“Are you expecting a guest?” James asked.

“No one but your mother or Professor Longbottom are welcome on my property and both them have a key so they wouldn’t be any need for them to knock. Hold on!” He said and walked over to his bookcase easing a book from the shelf and removing it. He looked inside and opened it to remove his 1911SC and silver magazine.

He checked the magazine that was loaded with ruby glowing bullets and then he eased it inside the weapon. James noticed that the hybrid magi/non magi weapon glow for a second before it returned to normal.

The presence of danger around Angus intensified making the hairs on James arms and neck stand up. Angus had changed.

James took out his wand, that was blue Horn Snake core but Angus held up his hand. “That won’t work. Put that away. I need you to stay in here. I’ll deal with it and come back.”

James frowned. “I got top marks in dueling and mother paid to have me tutored by retired Aururs in London. I can help.”

Angus smiled looking at his son. James stared at the cold stare. James stared back holding his father’s steal gaze. Angus nodded then as the knocking continued. “Your man now. So you got your say. Just remember. Follow my orders. Don’t use any any disarming spell if your going to use that thing then you better intend on harming or to kill because whoever is at the door is intending on doing the same to you.”

James nodded. “Yes Sir.”

Angus started forward with his Hybrid weapon aimed in front of him and that level of dangerous energy around him expanding out as he went on the hunt.

James frowned as new strange understanding of his father came to him from where he didn’t know but he trusted in the knowledge knowing it to true. They came to the front as whoever was at the door continued knocking with persistent knock though not overall pushy.

“Turn around and leave my propriety you are not welcome here.” Angus said in a commanding and dominating voice.

“Angus! It’s Ava. Honey my key doesn’t work. Will you let me in.” Ava voice called from the other side.
Angus stopped James from going to the door with a raised hand. “If you have the key it should work just fine for Ava. I need you to turn around and leave my property. I will not repeat myself.”

“Angus I-”

The door was blown apart. Angus fired his weapon. A fireball of gold flames and electrical energy came out the nose of his weapon hitting whoever it was in the chest and sending them flying backward outside.
James stared in shocked surprised. He had never seen anything like that show of raw power in duel or sparring match.

“Easy son. It ain’t over. It’s coming back.” Angus said calmly.

“It?! What?” James began but stopped as feeling fear shook him to his core at the tall figure that came back inside through the whole in the front of the house. The creature was in the figure of a tall man but wrapped up in a cloak of darkness and then suddenly it was Professor Longbottom stood before them.

“James I came to-Ah!” The creature screened as Angus fired another fireball of lightning hitting it in the body and setting it on fire this time. The creature screamed and screeched out in horrible blood chilling sound of pain and rage.

“James. You going to use that wand or pick your nose with it?” Angus said in deadpan serious voice that woke up James from his stupor.

“Dad. What the hell is it?” James asked.

“Dementor of course.”

“What?!”

Angus nodded as he studied the creator. “The court of Owls sent me to hunt down the last remaining of their new breed that had come over from the old country. I thought I got them all that’s why I came back early form my job. Well if you not going to do anything I’d best.”
James straitened up away from his father and thought of one spell. Raising his wand he pointed at the focusing his mind on the happy memories of he had of being with his mother and father all together and shooting at the gun rang home.

“EXPECTO PATRONUM!”

Ah loud bang came from his wand as a pale blue horned snake flew out of his wand’s end and slivered around the room and around the Dementor wrapping around it smothering it in it’s body before biting down on it.
The Dementor roared in pain before exploding into pure light as Angus fired one more time at the deadly creature and exploding it into nothing.
Angus finally turned to face James and nodded to him. “A bit slow but you did good for your first battle. A horned Serpent Patronus. Nice. You’ll make a fine Auror.”

James stared at his father. “Who are the court of Owls? Are they a magi para-military group in the Magical congress of magic?”
Angus grimaced but he shook his head. “Yes and no. The President is the primary Chief of the court.” He said in a somber tone.
James frowned. “I’ve never heard of the Court of Owls. They must have been established recently.”

Angus smiled shrugging his shoulders. “In a way yes. Listen son. I think you should have a talk with your mother today and hear her out on her job offer.” He said.

James studied his father closely. “Okay so does Mother know about the Owls?”

Angus sighed. “I don’t believe so. But, son I think it would best you didn’t mention anything regarding the Court to your mother. It’s not that I want you to keep secrets from your mother but I’m not really ab liberty to reveal any of this to the general magi public.”

James stared at him. “Okay. But would it be okay for me to ask you questions regarding the Court of Owls?”

Angus stared at him. His lips shook a little. “If your new gift you’ll find out eventually and your witness to me finishing a execution order then it’s okay. But, please remember not to reveal this to anyone else outside of you me and a member of the Court of Owls. I got your word on it.” Angus said and held out his hand.

James smiled taking his father’s hand. “I promise not to tell mother or anyone else not associated with the Court of Owls. I got one more question though. How do I use back sight?!”

Angus opened his mouth then closed it. “Ask your mother she’s much more smarter on the subject and I got a lot of repair work to do now on the house.”

Largo’s Flame Episode 3

What the fuck was I doing? Fuck. Azibo had me digging a damn well for the village and I wasn’t asking anymore why of it just going along.

Hell I got in a few games of chess as I waited for whatever answers it is Azibo was holding back from me. There was something. I felt it and I knew everyone in the village knew what it was but me.

I started to get comfortable and then I felt something was off. Omarion. He was hurt and in trouble.

When I imagined him in trouble I came to myself and started packing for the trip back to the city. I was heading to my bike when Azibo stopped me. “Your training is over. You will not get back in time on your bike.”

“I’ve had enough of games alien. Don’t get in my way. I’ve wasted enough time here.”

“No games. I’m suggesting you just take one step and you’ll return to the city. Picture the city in your head and your brother’s elemental flame energy. You will appear in the city near him. Don’t try just do it.”

I stared at him. “Why did you bring me here?”

“I did not call you here. You called out to me. Everything I have is yours, Largo. Though your mother took you away from me. You still found your way back home to your people to me. We will talk later. Do as I say. Your brother needs your help. Go. NOW!”

My mind felt weird for a second like it was slight in two. I was in two places at once but I existed outside of both and then I fell. Downward until. I landed back in the city. I had questions but I put those questions aside. I needed to find my brother. I needed to find Omarion.

The Sandman’s lightning run series 2 Episode 17

We came back to the city a day later after the battle in the desert. I had informed the other kings and the Authority about what happened. They asked me about the cyborg but I told them to let her go. She had merely been a tool for the Robotics nation to use for invasion.

We then headed to the condo. Our physical stuff was all there and the computers but not Ghost. He was gone and as Marcus looked through our accounts Ghost had also cleared out all the credits we had and purged any information about him from our pack records.

Marcus and Arrow went out in search of work to pay the rent due next month while I headed to the Untouchables. Ghost was my target now but I would have to put him on the back burner. I wanted to finish up my duty to Bee.

I had a girl that was sweet on me that was apart of the purple dragons. I talked her into getting a meeting with her Boss Lady.

A few days later I met with Raw B Money told her what I had in mind. I didn’t have any credits and Raw B Money didn’t do favors but she gave me a twenty-eight hours window to finish a job for a client of hers and she would take five percent of my fee.

The job was short and sweet. I got a little credits for rent and Raw B got her fee and went to work trying to find Bee. Meanwhile I went to work hunting for Ghost.

Two Months later, I didn’t find Ghost. He had disappeared or more likely had went to the Outlands or took a portal out of the dream realm. I walked into Untouchables one night with the brothers to find Fatty the owner of Untouchables bar and gril with his female.

I had heard of her of course but hadn’t met her yet. She was curvy ebony beauty with puffy crown of hair and dressed in a white leotard and push up pumps. Her golden honey glowing eyes met mean. It was Bee. I nodded to her before she looked away turning her attention back to Fatty. Fatty looked at me seeing the exchange.

I held up a gold ebs card. ” I need three beers and large plate chicken wings bro.”

Fatty took my card. “You got it brother. You know my Bee Candy?”

“Yeah. She’s my little sister. Treat her good but she knows to do the same for you bro.” I said and walked away.

Two nights later, I was in my office looking for a job when I felt someone behind me suddenly. I turned in my car to see Bee smiling up at me nervously.

“Hello.”

I nodded to her. “Hello. What are you doing here. I heard you were going out of town for a bit.”

She nodded. “I am but I’ll be back. I just needed to know. Why? Why did you set me up with my mate. You didn’t have to give me a new name and identity. You didn’t have to do that.”

I got up and held out my fist. She bumped her fist against mean and this time she felt it. The connection. “We’re Nomads. Taking of you and making sure you are protected and safe is my duty as your elder brother.”

Bee smiled with tears in her eyes. “You Nomads are a strange people. But, I am happy to be one of you.”
