Let’s do a brainstorm session for no man’s land ideas for a story

Okay! Like the title suggests. This is a brainstorm of ideas for a story/series idea. Any ideas that come up from the post if there any good please, please.

STEAL THE IDEAS PRESENTED…

Random words…

FMA

LOSS

POLITICS

FOOLS

STATES

MONEY

DEATH

TAXES

CHICAGO

BREAKDOWN

NEVER SAW IT COMING

1# Example:

James Hill was a runner for the South Side King Pin Sam Heed of Chicago, he ran everything from food, Dogs, sheep, drugs, Laptops and guns. He made his most profit from guns and laptops though. It was the third year after the major break down of the North America and the only jobs one could find were online or working for a local King Pin in your state if you wanted to get bread for your tribe and protection for your family against the IRS Federal Mob Agents you needed to get strapped and locked in with large gang.

James had been seventeen when the breakdown happened in twenty-nineteen. He had learned quick to adjust to the times when FMA killed his father in a home invasion and put James’ mother in prison for tax evasion claims once the government finally went belly-up once they knew the financial magic illusion show was over and the country couldn’t pay-back China. The government came looking for James’ billionaire father’s money seizing their property, land, house, cars even the clothes off their backs. It was no rules.

James had taken his two younger sisters April age 12 and Megen age 7 and headed on the road evading the FMA until he hocked up with an old friend from college Sam Heed when he took over South Side in the last gang war to unite the gangs. By mid-winter high takes hit every state one after the other until by January 2end  the FMA had trouble of it’s own protecting the politics and news casters from harm rather then chase after him.

Hmm. Not perfect. But it’s an alright example of a brainstorming session to exercise your creative muscles. Try it out if will.

Comment below on your thoughts.

Writer’s November month dreaming

November is coming…

Here in America you can see the signs. People are talking about politics. Well. People are always talking about Politics. The climate is strange for those not so much inclined to think much of politics in November.

November is also the writing season. Young and old  writers all dedicate themselves to finishing that novel they’ve been working on for the whole year or years. It’s also that time of challenge. You put forth your effort toward starting and completing a novel or novella in one month’s time.

Hmm. Just imagine entering a single competition with yourself for one goal and end. A completed first draft story before December’s marry time rolls in. A gift or present to yourself.

I know. I sound quite odd if not crazy but I can’t help it. It’s the bug that’s has caught hold of me. Can you my fellow lover’s of the written word say otherwise. Writing is a joy as much for the challenge behind it as it is a joy in the process of creating meaning with the daily words we use daily.

There is

There is

A beauty to this craft.

There is

A Majestic magic

To our Shakespearian English

Heritage.

A wonderful challenge to

Wrestling with concepts

And

Adverbs.

We spin our nouns in

Different directions and

Form

Meaning to craft our stories

That our youths will fight for

And live to sing to the

Generations to come.

Man, I love Shin Lim

What is our fascination with magic?

The wonder of it. To play with the mind’s perception of real and fantasy. To amaze and entertain.

Shin Lim winner of the 13th season of AGT. Though really watching his performances you really need to reverse the perception. Rewritten it should be called: Welcome to the Shin Lim show of wonder and magical fantastical live dreams.

That, man worked hard from day 1 to put as much into his art and performance with attention dedication and single drive to put out something new and strive to push himself to his own limits and past his own comforts.

You may ask. Why are you writing about Shin Lim all of sudden? The answer is both simple and complicated. As artists of the written word you have to have respect for a follow artist and a appreciation for a relentless pursuit excellence and execution.

Do you know what it’s like to be utterly horrible at a skill you so love to do. To work hard years and decades to achieve a level of progress that comes at the pace of snail in a marathon across a twenty two mile landscape. Some people call you wishful dreamer. All you want and all you see is a hopeful expectation of success in your chosen art of your heart.

Life is full of disappointments and times when you want to lose hope in this writing thing or magic hobby your so enamored with. Yes. Some dreams of mastery come to an end but, you can dream again. That next dream to master the craft can be the fire in your soul that takes you further then you ever imagined.

The work. The work, time and energy I see in the mature artist I can’t help admiring. I can’t help being inspired to reach further and push myself to the limits to grow as a writer and a artist.

Writer’s block?

Does writer’s block really exist?

Don’t you wonder? Where does that moment come from when you’re at the computer screen staring at your a blank screen or empty page. Sometimes it comes from a busy mind over taxed with to many worries of the world and life.

Life, money, bills, nagging wife and nagging boss. The list goes on and on. All distractions really. So how do you focus? Think of yourself on a boat sitting on the water in storm raging all around you. You’ve got a determination to get to a destination but the storm, the storm is raging for your attention.

What you should be doing is looking for your map. Map? What about the storm raging all around you. Yeah! Forget about the storm for a bit. Get your map (Outline) and compass (notes) out from your tool box and scan for your location. Are you in the middle, beginning or nearing the end of your story. Find out where you are and in your mind track (Start writing) a course forward to where you need to be and the end game of your journey. The storm may keep raging but the map will focus you mind on forward movement.

Be confident and keep working.

Outlines are great maps for writers that find a need to keep you focused. Whether it’s a written outline or a mental act of knowing where you are in the writing of story and trusting yourself to make the steps or chart the course to get where you need to be.

Being human and writing about making characters real-like.

I have wondered about the psychology of writing and it’s effects on my brain off and on through the years sense I started to pursue writing as means of expressions my thoughts and feelings onto empty page.  Moments in life when I should and dearly wanted to scream. I did though lips hardly uttered a word because of internal nature my writing voice would scream out my frustrations, anger and sadness. I realized in some part of my youth a simple being human isn’t easy or without complications. I would learn years later that understanding how to write decent characters is complicated as well.

  • advice: Write characters how human beings are. Don’t try to glorify your hero and don’t make a demon of your villain make their motivations understandable to the reader.

Losing my Dad early on in life came with it feelings of missing lessons and anger at being taught something that would come easily to my college peers moral and social framework.

I looked at them and above admiring their material and social advances I looked at my own up bringing and what tools I were taught that matter most in interconnected encounters with others. I began to write and analyze my own up-bring and the common social norms that helped in my dealings with other people. I had one skill really that I found most effect.

Manners

person’s outward bearing; way of speaking to and treating others:

It’s a strange thing to have in this crazy time in our modern age history of men and the eroding of objective truth norms. Manners still prevail in some form or another. The social codes of how we deal with one another sense we no longer share a common thread of moral norms. So little we agree on but we all still have a internal invisible certainty that we need a sense of value recognition and respect still for the things we do though we know what we do may and will be forgotten but still no one wants to be ignored or treated like trash if they like themselves at least.

Pardon, my flash backs but there is meaning I’m heading too.

Back to writing…Characters should be believable. Be honest about how people are even when your writing about fantasy warriors with magic guns blasting away at fire demon dogs. A hero or villain of a story you write should be respected as a human being and not turned into a over dramatized demon or angelic holy figure.

Systems of learning: Reverse Engineering Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes is a fun interesting character for a lot of reasons but as of late the most interesting reason that is often over looked is the fact he is modern age man who owns and operates a trade/job he invented for himself as his ego and talents.

Granted, we’re talking about a fictional character but the man from 221b is not alone in the business class of job creation in this current era in time.

So do you Reverse Engineer Sherlock Holmes. Simple. You start from the beginning. What is he at his core or what was he in his childhood. By nature he was a curious child. A very curious intelligent child that wanted to know the why.

Why?

Why does this person behave this way?

Why do people do things they should not do?

Why does a person commit Murder? And, then when those questions are answered the mind turns to another matter. Now, knowing why a person would commit murder how do you find who that person did the murder. More data is needed. The University is the logical conclusion to find out those answers and means of putting forth a system for measuring the scope of reasons, motives and story behind crimes.

University comes to an end. What follows is society puts the demands on Holmes to find employment. Holmes already has the demands met with a part time hobby he started in his late school years that drive and feed his hunger to know why. Holmes deducts that if he has a need to know answer a mystery and the means to find out the answer there might be clients with the same need to find out their own mysteries answers but not the same ready spark skill as himself.

Managing his side hobby of giving advice for a fee through word of mouth and free advice he earns his bread and feeds his drive to know why and to have his mind feed on problems and mysteries.

The conclusion: The curios cat who hunted for rats in the barn was feed for doing what he naturally does well.

Progress as a writer

What’s your inspiration?

What writer or work of fiction has driven you to work hard to upgrade your writing and extend yourself. You spend enough years studying the craft and trying to gain a measure of excellence in the art of men of letters then you grow to admire a few figures of the past.

Robert Frost

If you have had a passing like for pose and song you’ve heard of him. The one dressed plain gentlemen’s attire. A modern man. He was never one to be misunderstood in writing. One would simple have to follow him from the beginning of his first line to ending of his walk down a road least traveled on.

Ray Douglas Bradbury

Every day is a new journey. Every day is a new opportunity to write something. The excitement of knowing everyday is day you have the joy of doing what gives you the most pleasure of doing. A endless stream of words. A endless stream of worlds and short stories and histories being made.

Two writers. Two voices for their times and two writer’s driven by the craft.

Why we write

You stare at the blank screen for over an hour it feels like. You think about turning your mind to other pursuits. Maybe, you can bout up a video game. Maybe, you should watch a YouTube video until something God help you some electrical energy fires off in your head.

You don’t move though because you know at any moment you’ll make a decision to write down that first sentence that is swimming around in your head. You want to write something. You want keep this activity up that is very much apart of who you are right now and what you do. Some times that moment comes and some times you wish you had done something else for last twenty sum years instead of getting into this writing habit.

Why do we write?

That one moment. The sentence is just awesome and even better with a fresh rewrite. That chapter. Man, that chapter you wrote at 6am in the morning with hot a cup of coffee to your side. Those moments are what you’ve been waiting for two decades to happen. You waited for it and finally it happened naturally.

Oh that joy

Oh that moment

When the lady muse

Finally came to my

Room and

Danced over to me

To lean down and whisper

Her magic into my ear

To awaken my soul

To age old magic.

Systems of learning: A game of wealth

I like games. board games, card games, word games, video games and very recently I love d&d. Dungeons & Dragons is a role playing.

Yeah! I’m that dude.

Currently though the game I’m must interested in. Now a days is the game of wealth. I was born poor like a lot of people in to game not knowing I was missing a few pieces missing to play with but enjoyment and growing desires to learn how play.

What are the pieces you need to get a head and win the game?

  1. You need a steady system that can create a highway path between you and resources.
  2. You need to be consistent in what your doing that works effectively.

Systems of learning: A study of wealth growth simulations and character creation

We will begin with a definition for contact and a starting block for us to take off into the subject.

Wealth simulation: A imitation of reality involving the scenario of wealth growth. I.E. The game Monopoly is a simulated game on investments with the purpose of getting out of the rat race.

Your probably thinking wouldn’t I need a computer science degree to make a simulation or to even understand the concept. No. Fiction based on real life events is a classic notion of simulation in action or real-life television fake drama show.I

Treat the experiment as a means to start a game. We’ll use the game dungeons & Dragons as template.

Set about crafting a list of character tracts and back history of your character. Race, gender and character history. Add in childhood to adult and add the hungry drive and determination to make it to the top. Take all that in to a blender and generate something interesting.

I like this game a lot in writing. It works pretty fast to get rid of writer’s block though honestly I haven’t had a long spell of non-writing when I started playing this game.

Racism is stupid and makes no intellectual sense…unless…no it’s stupid

The title is a work in the process. But, wouldn’t change it. Let’s get down to a definition behind the word racism:

Racism is prejudice and discrimination towards people based on their race or ethnicity. Today, the term “racism” has a powerful emotional component, representing one of the least acceptable social behaviors and political positions in mainstream Western society

I’ve tried but it makes no sense to me any other way racism is stupid. I think it’s part of the fact I never grew up around people that dis-liked because low their own simulated idiotic narratives in their own minds.

I grew up in a mixed race neighborhood with high rate of democrat on every block and black man washing a new car once every Saturday and Mr. Shapiro waving a good morning to me every time he saw me on the street.

My brief childhood bio:

I never was made to feel inferior in my own life or could really understand prejudice but through the lenses of historical movies, books or plays. But, then again. I’m talking about the classic 1900s version of racism. The 2000s version of racism? Well, how can anyone who thinks critically really understand it.

How can someone make you feel an emotion that doesn’t exist in the way you view yourself? Do you believe with a word or strange worldview has the magical power to determine who you are?

If someone called you an apple and they meant within their fantasy worldview that you are below what it means to be a human or they thought you were really an apple. How could you really take that person’s words seriously as a mature adult with a reasonable mind. Wouldn’t you think within reason this person is either drunk, a fool or completely insane.

What is the motivation behind the fantasy of racism? Here are my observations on the issue. You be the judge with this makes sense or not.

Observation #1 From the past: Person A wants to hold the power and land within his group within his country but their are groups B & C in his country. Person decides to get his group who has larger numbers to B who were in the conquered country and simple exclude them on the grounds of them being conquered. Group C is the forced slavery but less in number so Group A further de-value Group C for the purpose of simple excluding them from a share in the land and power. Nothing to do with hate or real factual evidence of less human worth. It was about money and power.

Faster forward in time.

Observation #2 In the Present: Miss D wants to hold power, money and position in a high paying government job. She has winning strategy. Give her group free stuff and cocaine promises of a better tomorrow. She is genius and keeps her job for fifty plus years. A problem raises though. She is losing numbers on her team. Her dim witty sister on the other team doesn’t know this is happening she’s to busy being old and fat while trying to be cool like her super model sister Miss D. Miss D starts shopping around for more people who like her sales pitch. She finds them in another country. How can she bring them over to her team. Miss D starts looking in her tool box of magic spells and brings out her grandpa’s magic wand of Racism on all people working them up to look down a empty well while she starts sneaking behind her extra numbers in the back door and hiding them under her bed and when Miss D needs some numbers to add to her next company election Miss D is going to have her numbers and her cocaine pie.

Conclusion: Racism is a tool for the rich or powerful to use against the poor or ignorant to rob them of their liberty and freedom for comfort and government cocaine pie.
